Six

I’m a big fan of a musical. And this is fast becoming one of my favourite soundtracks. Sore throat and husky voice means I can’t belt it out. Broken ankle means I can dance. So miming and jiggling as best I can with it on loud. Now there’s a mental image for you all!!

I might have to book myself a ticket to go and see it when it comes to Norwich. I loved it when I saw it in London last year.

Best laid plans

When you try to think about protecting your boot from the elements and put a plastic bag on (it’s a statement piece honestly), only to realise there are holes in said plastic bag and you’re taking on water. Soggy toes are us!!

The positives are that I made it to the yard for Buddy’s saddle check and all is good with his saddles. Now battening down the hatches for yet another storm!

Look for the good

I’m feeling better than yesterday, but my throat is still really sore and the glands are up in my neck. So another day of resting for me.

I was sat in the conservatory and spotted the first flower has popped on my camellia. This always makes me smile and it means Spring is on the way.

Appreciate talent

Today has been pretty crappy as I’m with snot and feel like I’ve swallowed razor blades. But these made me smile. My delivery of notecards from painting by my talented friend Maryanne from Badger’s arts crafts and paintings for all occasions. They’re beautiful.

Unclean

Headache – check.
Sore throat – check.
Blocked nose – check.

It’s official. I’m sick. 🤧

The universe has decided that I’m not resting enough obviously. So I will now be limping around with a bell and a sign that says unclean…. 😷

Timeout

After my meltdown over the weekend, I put myself into a bit of a timeout. And watched Rugby, Disney and Dancing On Ice. All feel good things for me.

Rugby cause of the thighs, I mean respect for the game is played with. Yes they’re battering seven shades out of each other, but they shake hands at the end of the match and have a beer together. And lots of fit men running around in shorts. Did I mention thighs?!

Disney cause it’s sheer escapism for me. If I’m down, I alway put on an animated film. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourites. I’m fact there’s not a single one I don’t love. My collection is bigger than most children’s. One day I’m sure my Prince Charming will come along.

And Dancing on Ice speaks for itself. I’m all about the journey… And it was movie week so double joy!

I watched a really interesting documentary about Walt Disney. I’d really have like to have met him. He really struggled with his demons too to create such great movies. And even then he was never happy with them, always pushing the boundaries.

I love this quote from him. I’m going to try and remember this when I have my next meltdown (and there will no doubt be one). I’m not failing, I’m growing stronger.
