Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
So I may have gotten a little carried away with my pruning today. 😳
This bush was taking over the driveway. Every time I reversed out, I ended up in it. So it got a good haircut. 3 full green bags later, I can reverse out with ease.
I have more border to fill and even found a hydrangea that was hiding under there.
What a fab evening. Proper out! Dinner with these beautiful ladies. I’ve got a full belly, an achey face and a topped up soul. Just what the doctor ordered. Thank you ladies.
I may have been a little overexcited at being out.
Today was a bit of a self-care day. With a lot of tidying, cleaning and general decluttering going on. Well that was the plan. Kinda feel like I moved stuff around the house or into the garage.
Now the garage needs a good tidy!! That’s on the list too.
Took Buddy out for a long hack this afternoon. The maize has grown even taller. It was windy so it makes quite a noise. I know I say it a lot, but I do love where I live.
Today hasn’t been my best. Too many plates spinning and trying not to drop any. My mojo was up and down too. One minute I felt I could conquer the world, the next I wanted to sell up and live in a field.
So I took some time out to revisit my dreams. I have some big ones still to achieve.
Saw this quote and loved it. It’s true, you’re never too old.
So here’s to dreaming big! And putting my energies into making them come true.
Over the years, my flower tastes have changed. I used to find hydrangeas ugly. Not sure why. Maybe it’s because I thought of them as old ladies flowers (careful!!). Now I love them. I have several in my garden and I will be adding more. This one has just started flowering. It’s so pretty.
I’ve had a frustrating day. Was meant to hack with a friend, but the weather put pay to that. We took a rain check till tomorrow instead.
Arrived for my 5:30 blood donation appointment to be told they’d sent me a text to say they were cancelling it due to staff shortages. I checked my phone. Text arrived at 5:07 while I was driving there.
They said they’d made the decision at 10:30 to prioritise other blood groups. Phoned to complain. Again. Second time this has happened now. Last time I didn’t get a text at all.
Never mind, thought I’d go and lunge Buddy. Then remembered I had a webex at 7pm. Dialled in and it had been moved to 8pm. Doh!
Got this email today. Have to say I think it’s a pretty good one. I tend to use the Shell Garage for my lorry, so good to know that our carbon emissions are being offset.
So far we’ve offset more than Buddy and my weight combined. 👏🏻
