Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
After a bit of a slow start (I woke up feeling rather crumpled), I’ve had a very productive day. I mowed and scarified both lawns, weeded the borders and attacked a few bushes for good measure.
Also got 3 loads of washing on the line. Hurrah!
The kittens came to help me with the weeding. I say helping. Hugo wanted to lie on the bit I was weeding and Dodo ran off with one of my gloves. They do make me laugh sometimes.
Does this mean I have a ride on mower?! 🤪
Back home after a lovely weekend away with my friends Simon and Harry.
Buddy and I managed to stay dry this afternoon. The same couldn’t be said for Simon and I this morning. We got drenched out on our walk.
Glad I took a change of clothes with me, that’s all I saying. ☔️
Very honoured to spend time with a few of my friends this week. Grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life.

What a whopper of a bun I had today!! Popped to the cafe at Fairhaven Gardens, my first time there.
I do love a Belgium Bun. This filled me up for hours! Why is it called a Belgium bun?! Anyone know?!
Buddy made me laugh tonight. He’d made a hay barricade. Guess he didn’t want to work tonight. Good job he was getting a grooming session then.
Ruth and I headed over to Blickling today. Well it seems appropriate given she works for The National Trust. It’s the first time I’ve been inside. It’s definitely worth it.
Things I have learnt today…
OK so that last one wasn’t about Blickling, but it’s still very exciting. We had the best curry tonight and didn’t have to leave the house. This could be rather dangerous!!
It’s been a grey, miserable rainy day today. Ruth and I walked to the local farm shop to get some stuff for lunch. We found this adorable tiny caravan for sale.
Reckon I could tow it with my little car!
Today my friend Ruth came to stay. I haven’t seen her for a good few years. But it’s been like no time had passed. We went for a long walk this evening, it was wonderful to walk and talk.
She drew this picture for my 50th. It always makes me smile. In fact I have two of her drawing in my house. Now I have the artist in person. She’s so talented.
So I may have gotten a little carried away with my pruning today. 😳
This bush was taking over the driveway. Every time I reversed out, I ended up in it. So it got a good haircut. 3 full green bags later, I can reverse out with ease.
I have more border to fill and even found a hydrangea that was hiding under there.
