Maize monsters

Buddy was convinced there were monsters in the maize tonight. It’s shot up so is now over our heads! The wind probably didn’t help as it was rustling rather loudly.

His little ears were going like radar dishes. Thankfully no monsters. And he quite likes eating the leaves.

He much prefers walking past the sugar beet. Such a stunning view.

Walking

I felt the need to walk today. To stretch my legs and clear my head. Grateful to have such beauty on my doorstep.

One day I will remember to check the weather forecast before I leave the house. Walked through a few showers. It was just drizzly so was like getting a facial as I walked along.

Cutbacks

I may have gone a bit gung-ho with my pruning today. 🤪 In all seriousness, it needed to be done. This bush was so heavy it had fallen forward and was crushing the flowers underneath. It was taking over the border too.

It has been annoying me so it needed to go. I’ve done as much as I can. I need a bigger saw to cut through the trunk now.

Oh and I have to get rid of the debris. Let’s see how much I can get in my little car…

Distractions

Today I have had a few distractions. It’s butterfly saving season…!

I rescued 5 from Dodo and 3 from the conservatory.

It was all too much for Hugo. He spent most of the day asleep in the food box. Once again he was snoring his head off. Slightly distracting on calls. It’s so cute, I can’t help smiling.

Repdigit

I love things like this. My odometer this morning. Is it just me?!

There’s something so satisfying about symmetry. And there’s a term for it. Repdigit. Which is a portmanteau of repeated and digit.

Even cooler!

Olympic success

After watching the cross country yesterday with my friend’s dog, it seemed appropriate that today’s photo is of my show jumping companion. The excitement is clearly too much for him.

Hugo was snoring at one point. I woke him up servers times with my cheering! It was so exciting.

What an amazing performance by our eventers. Team gold and an individual
Silver.

And a bronze for Andrew Hoy. Just shows that there’s no age limit on our wonderful sport. I have his saddle you know. If it’s good enough for him…. 🤪

Cross country

Watched the cross country from Tokyo this morning. I was dog sitting so the perfect way to start the day – coffee, cuddles and cross country.

There were lots of ooohing, ahhhhing, cheering and gasping. And that was just me. 🤪

Team GB were incredible!

Beautifying

After being away last weekend and a busy week, I needed some Buddy time. Took him out for a long hack this afternoon. Being out in nature with my boy feeds my soul more than anything else. I know I’ve said it before, but I really do live in a beautiful part of the world.

I did my best to make my tiny bit of the world beautiful too. I spent most of the day in the garden. I mowed both lawns. They’d both gone a bit bonkers with all the rain. It was tough going, but always looks so much better when it’s done.

Connectivity

I’m back! Did you miss me?!? My broadband has finally been fixed. The engineer was here for two hours.

It’s been a little odd having limited connectivity. We rely so heavily on technology and I hadn’t quite appreciated just how much I use the internet. I now have a very long list of things I need to catch up on…

Being watched

You ever get that feeling you’re being watched. Well today I was. Came out of the greenhouse after watering to find Dodo watching me. He’s worked out he can jump from the log store to the garage. And from the garage to the conservatory.

He obviously gets a better view of the birds that way…
