Bonuses

Check out my stunning amaryllis. It’s got a bonus baby too, so I will have more stunning flowers. My amaryllis from last year is getting ready to bloom too. What a wonderful sight. And a wonderful Christmas present. For the past few years, my friend Jan has given me one. They seem to love this sunny spot.

Wish I could say the same about all of my plants. I was woken up by a loud thud this morning. It seemed one of the kittens had knocked a plant over in the conservatory. There was soil all over the place, in their bowl and on the mats.

So out came the hoover. And off went the kittens. Glaring at me through the doors in the rain.

As the hoover was out, I did the rest of the house. Then washed their bowls. Before feeding them (and me). All before coffee. An interesting way to start the day.

Manic Monday

Today has been a very odd day. One of those days where I’ve got a lot done and at the same time gone round in circles.

Literally as I got stuck in a loop with social services over a question about my Mum. After being passed around, I eventually found the right person to speak to. Everyone was really helpful. Just couldn’t answer the question. Rather frustrating.

Hopefully I’ll get an answer tomorrow. At least I got to top up my vitamin D with coffee and kitten cuddles in the sunshine.

Well when they weren’t tearing round the garden like loons! They were both rather manic too! They do make me laugh with their antics.

Hugs

This little sign always makes me smile when I’m at my parents. It’s very true. A good hug can really help in times of need.

Could have done with one earlier when it took an hour to get through Tonbridge Wells. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful place. But an hour to do 4 miles gives one rather a long time to see it.

Now you’d imagine that for such a delay there must have been an extreme reasons. But no, 50 yards of one lane closed and traffic lights. There might have been a bit of yelling, swearing and frustration by this point. I sounded a bit like John McEnroe…

Still the rest of the journey was smooth sailing. And the kittens were on hand to welcome me home. Dodo was on the roof playing lookout. Hugo was wailing the minute I walked in. They’re both now hugging my feet.

Paw Patrol

Not sure if the kittens had spotted something. Or they were just on guard. But Paw Patrol was in full force today.

They sat like this for ages. Till the sun broke through and they retired to the sunshine. Maybe they were waiting for it to hit the conservatory.

I was toasting nicely with my dinky heater. I’m fact, I had to turn it off at one point as I was overheating.

Hoarse

Woke up feeling a little hoarse. Typically I’d had two really good night’s sleep and was feeling excited about the new year. Then bang, my body decides it’s going to be ill on me.

So I took my cotton head to the laptop but gave up after a few hours and dragged my snotty nose to the sofa.

The kittens were thrilled to have an afternoon of snuggling on the sofa. Me? Not so much. Till I saw the sleet and snow outside. Then I was rather grateful I didn’t have to leave the house.

Fear not, normal service will be resumed soon. Nothing more sleep, good food and lots of lucozade won’t fix.

Tired

I’m more tired than the Mayor of Tiredsville right now. It was a really struggle getting up this morning when the alarm went off. Can’t say I was at my best today peopling. Hopefully I didn’t make any mistakes.

I told one of the other receptionists the hours I’d done this week. Her reaction? How are you still standing?!

I sometimes ask myself the same question.

The kittens have definitely missed me. They’ve both stayed close. Lots of cuddles on the sofa were the order of the day. Not sure what they’ve got to be tired about though. Maybe they’ve been partying too while I’ve been away.

Missed

Think it’s safe to say that I’ve been missed. The kittens have been close at hand today.

Think it’s safe to say that I’ve missed my bed. And the kittens of course. As lovely as it’s been being away, it was very lovely waking up in my own bed. I do love my little house.

Hugo decided that snuggles were in order. Typical as I was getting ready to go to a Committee meeting.

Don’t feel too bad for him, he’s purring loudly next to me as I type. He’s one happy boy.

Deluge

The kittens have the right idea. It’s definitely been an indoor day today. Well I say that I was woken up by a rather soggy Dodo this morning.

Hugo got caught out in the thunder and came in demanding to be towelled off.

Dodo wasn’t too impressed with having to share. They’re so cute the way they cuddle up together. I wasn’t too impressed with getting wet at the yard. Again.

Honestly, I think Mother Nature has missed the memo. April showers were so last month…

Crash barrier

The kittens have been big fans of climbing over the fence in my garden. It needs replacing (it’s on the list) so has seen better days. Every time one of them has climbed over it, the panel wobbles. I was a bit worried they were going to take it down.

Seems they’ve decided that it’s safer to go through the fence! Noticed today that the bottom has been broken to make a rather large opening. Not sure if my neighbour did this or if it was the kittens. Let’s face it, Hugo can be a bit of a bulldozer at times.

Either way, they love running in and out of the garden and next door’s.

Fur real

The kittens are not big fans of the freezing temperatures and ice it seems. They are refusing to leave the house other than to go and do their business (grateful for that)!

This morning they were tearing round the house like loons. They were play fighting and fighting over toys. Typical children huh?!

Heard a commotion so came to investigate. Found huge clumps of fur everywhere. Play fighting seemed to have got a bit rough!

Went to get the hoover, well that shifted them outside. They are even less fans of the hoover. They were both glaring at me through the conservatory doors. Such a mean mother…
