Striding

Well my day went sideward this morning. I had planned to be inspired at Burnham Market Horse Trails, but sadly the competitions were abandoned. Something made me check before I left. Grateful I did. But given I was woken up at 3am by torrential rain, it was hardly a surprise.

With a totally free day, I decided to have a house / garden day instead. I got two loads of washing out on the line. And spend a few very productive hours in the garden. I need a good few more out there though.

Finally I took Buddy out for a long hack in the sunshine. Someone was striding out today. He’s obviously feeling very well at the moment. Best view in the world.

I’m now going to Burnham Market tomorrow instead. So I will get my eventing inspiration after all.

Bit flat

So it seems it was decided that I should have a house day today. Had planned to visit some friends but a flat tyre stopped that. There isn’t a spare in The Comedy Car (you’ve seen the size of it?!). With it being a bank holiday, I wasn’t sure where would be open. So that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Torrential rain was another factor. So I spent the day catching up on house stuff. I ended up having quite a productive day. As well as getting some much needed downtime. I sat in the conservatory, cuddling the kittens, catching up on some training and podcasts.

Oh and listening to the rain.

Wide load

Well it’s not every day you see half a house driving down the motorway. Made me wonder where the other half was!!

Yes I’ve been on my travels again. This time a day trip to Birmingham to do a hotel site visit for a conference in 2024! It’s been a long day. But a very productive one.

Burghley Baby

I‘d forgotten just how stunning Burghley House is. It was definitely worth the 5:30am alarm call to get there for the final inspection. Having been away, I hadn’t had a chance to catch up on any of the XC action from yesterday. It seems like it was a tough track so there weren’t as many as I’d expected.

Got to watch some great show jumping and thrilled for Alice Casburn and Piggy March! Norfolk girls representing!!

It’s been an amazing weekend. I’ve driven nearly 400 miles. Spend some time with wonderful people. Achieved something I didn’t think I could. I’m now flopped on the sofa watching the Burghley highlights. I’m officially shattered.

Amazing

Today was a bit of a self-care day. With a lot of tidying, cleaning and general decluttering going on. Well that was the plan. Kinda feel like I moved stuff around the house or into the garage.

Now the garage needs a good tidy!! That’s on the list too.

Took Buddy out for a long hack this afternoon. The maize has grown even taller. It was windy so it makes quite a noise. I know I say it a lot, but I do love where I live.

I mean, just look at that view…
