Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
Well this made me laugh. Apparently I might need Muscle & Focus as well as Buddy! This is his favourite food. I looked quite the sight lugging the bag across the yard. I hope he appreciates my efforts. Think the concentration says it all.
Definitely not a composed performance.
Good job I can laugh at myself. No really, it is!! And I bet you are giggling a little bit too.
Here we have Buddy sporting this Summer’s look – hay and more hay! It’s not just a good look, it’s snacks for later.
Being the oversized Labrador that he is, Buddy definitely loves his food. It’s the best way to keep him occupied too. And boy did he need it today. First he had new shoes. Then Auntie Jess came to give him the once over and some laser treatment to help his recovery.
Poor boy was starved by the time the laser came out. He was practically wasting away. Lucky for him, it was best to distract him. So he was a very happy boy to get his hay.
Having a food-oriented horse comes in handy sometimes…
I had a bit of a food fail today. I had to do a day trip to Birmingham to do a site visit for a conference I’m working on. I wasn’t hungry on my way there, so didn’t bother stopping. On the way back, I thought I’d treat myself to an M&S Best Prawn Sandwich. It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure.
Played Russian roulette with my fuel gauge but made it to the BP in Kettering. Once the Comedy Car was refuelled, I headed into the M&S food bit to refuel me. Not a single sandwich, wrap or roll to be seen!!
Apparently the delivery lorry broke down. By this point it was 4:30pm and I was really hungry. So had to make do with a finger buffet instead. Slightly eclectic mix, but it was slim pickings. And what I had was so good (even if it was meant to be heated).
I was given this pretty salvia today. I’ve done a little favour for a good friend. This was her way of saying thank you. She also fed me, which is definitely my love language.
We haven’t caught up for a while, not sure either of us was expecting to talk for 4 hours though! The time passed in no time. Love it when that happens. And I’m lucky that it happens a lot.
One of the glorious things about camp is that I get fed three times a day! This isn’t common place in my world. I know people find it weird that I can forget to eat. But I honestly do!
Seems I make up for it at camp when I practically inhale food! Same can be said for Buddy. He’s loving stuffing his face with haylage.
Good job we’re burning a few calories too. Thought today I shivered a lot off! I was very cold last night. I’ve got an extra duvet for tonight. Today the temperature dropped while I was watching lessons. I had to break out the woolly hat!!
Good job I packed for every eventuality. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. And all that!
Back for Day 2 for the Petplan Area Festival at Forest Edge. A very long day today. A mere 11 hours of announcing combinations today.
One of the wonderful things about spending the day at Forest Edge, is the catering. It’s definitely plus point when I head there for camps. I never go hungry. It’s the only time I have a full English every day. Well one does tend to burn a few calories! I wasn’t burning that many calories today, but couldn’t resist a sausage bap to start the day.
I’m a simple creature really. I love anyone who feeds me.
What do you think Hugo is trying to tell me?! He sat wailing on the food box earlier. The major issue was that he started 4 hours before dinner.
He made his views clear on this too. Rather distracting as I tried to do some work. After a few days of my brain being nowhere able to do any work, it was very good to get the grey cells going again.
Oh how I’ve missed this little face. Well not so little really. But I’ve missed him. Think he was more interested in whether I had brought food for him.
It was pedicure time for Buddy today. He was very happy to have snacks too as we’ve found a haynet stops him from getting bored.
He looks so handsome. He was actually eyeing up a huge bale of hay. I thought to start off with that he was watching the yard dogs sitting on it. But no, he was all about the food! He kept staring at it even after the dogs had gone.
Back home after a lovely Christmas in Suffolk. Simon and Harry always make me feel so welcomed. It really is my home away from home. And they’re family for sure!
I was welcomed home by my family. The kittens haven’t left me since I got back. Maybe they missed me. Or maybe it was cause I came home with cat food.
Buddy was pleased to see me too. Maybe he missed me. Or maybe it was cause I came home with haylage.
I got to spend a lot of time having cuddles with this rather cute baby today. Well Christmas is about baby Jesus. So kinda fitting.
Who am I kidding?! Christmas is about eating lots, presents and spending it with the people you love. I got to spend most of it with 11 dogs. Definitely got my puppy fix.
Merry Christmas one and all! I hope you’ve had a good one. I have a full belly and a full heart. And that’s not just the Christmas spirit talking.
