Sandstorm

So proud of my amazing friend for publishing her first novel. Finished it last week and loved it. You don’t need to be horsey to enjoy it. If you are horsey, I’m sure you will find the insight into the world of Arabian showing fascinating.

Long route

I’m back home after a few days seeing my parents. Took a slightly longer route home so that I could meet up with my friend on the way back. It’s been ages since we last caught up. We had a rather lovely lunch at a garden centre in the Ashdown Forest. The tree behind us is over 430 years old! How cool is that?!

Daddy’s girl

So pleased that my Dad is on the mend. Took him over to see Mum today as well. Did them both the world of good to see each other. Because of Covid restrictions I couldn’t stay as well, but I did get to see Mum as I wheeled Dad in to see her. For a few moments, we were all together.

When I was little…

As a kid I preferred to be outside. I grew up in the edge of a market town, close to the countryside. Rolling hills, woods and water all around me. I was lucky to have a curfew of dusk and the freedom to wander. I’d cycle for miles and miles, travelling as far as my legs would take me.

Today I came back to one of the woods where I used to spend hours. In some ways, nothing has changed. In others, it’s changed massively. There are now new houses all around it. But it still has the peacefulness I craved as a child. I’ve always taken myself off to nature when I’m stressed, upset or feeling down.

We used to camp in these woods and have so many adventures. It makes me wonder what happened to some of those friends.

I walked past my old primary school. It looks so tiny now. Coming back to my parents is a so evocative. Talk about memory overload!

Do one Covid

This is the face of one amazing woman. My Mum has beaten Covid and is now medically fit to come home! Just need to wait a few days to get the care provision in place. And give my Dad a chance to recover from his infection too.

Can’t tell you what a relief it is for me to know that both of my parents are bouncing back from this horrible virus. Long may it continue…

Stay safe

Today I’ve used my mask more than ever. Love my cat mask. Even if I don’t love wearing it. My god it’s hot, I really feel for those who have to wear them for hours on end.

Long day today. Drove to Sussex to be with my parents. I’ve been to see Mum in hospital. She’s doing much better so that’s good. My Dad has also been in hospital. He was admitted last Friday with an infection and cellulitis. Different hospital to my Mum of course. Good news is that he’s been discharged today and is now home. It’s been a worrying time for me with them both being in hospital.
