Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
Saw this sticker today while at the chiropractor. It made me giggle. Mostly due to fact I read it as Barely to start off with. Thought it was a little odd.
Just goes to show that even someone who’s pretty good at proofreading can get it wrong. And how our brains sometimes sees what we think is there.

That moment when you go to bed after a brilliant evening out to find that you’ve been beaten to it. Good job I don’t have a problem with spiders. It was a bit of a whopper!!
Gave my potting shed a bit of an upgrade today. It was annoying me that I kept tripping over the tools. So I got it sorted. Practical Pip into action.
If you know me, you will appreciated that this is a big deal. I used a saw, drill and screwdriver. And I still have all my digits intact!!
It wasn’t without injury as I managed to smack my head on the door frame. Once day I might learn that one.
I love this tree. It’s opposite the yard and seems to change colour on an almost daily basis. It’s beautiful at the moment.
The kittens have made a nest in the border. It’s a great way for them to keep cool in the heat we’ve had. She says as it’s chucking it down. That’ll be my fault. I put the shade sail up. 🤦🏻♀️
Hugo makes me giggle. He’s found his voice in recent weeks. He’s proper chatty now. Think he’s going through the awkward teenage stage as it’s a little squeaky. Hard to take him seriously…
Today Buddy and I headed over somewhere new. We went over to hack with some new people. We had such a fab time. Boy was it hot! Wearing black jodhpurs wasn’t my best idea. Talk about hot thighs!
We really are so lucky to have such beautiful scenery. And such wonderful horses.
Today I learnt a valuable lesson. You need to apply suncream everywhere! I mean, who sunburns their feet?! In flip flops?! Those are some swanky tan lines… 🤦🏻♀️
Sometimes I question my life choices. Sometimes I don’t. Today has been an example of both.
I questioned my sanity somewhat at lunchtime as I decided to mow both lawns. It was a tad warm to say the least. I’d left the front lawn to ‘No Mow May’. That proved some challenge given the rain we’d had. It was very long.
This afternoon, however, I’m loving the choice I made to help a friend out and take her and her son kart racing. My inner petrolhead is out in force. I’d love to get in a kart right now and go for a spin.
Forgotten just how much I love motorsports.
Fab day out at Houghton Hall today for the unaffiliated Eventing. It couldn’t have been a more glorious day. It was great to catch up with lots of people. As well as watching the Eventing of course.
Definitely felt inspired. One day we might make it there to compete ourselves. It’s a stunning location and the XC course looked like a lot of fun.
Oh and I may have bought myself a new gillet. Well it was my birthday yesterday. And a girl simply can’t have enough, right?!
I nearly caused a bit of an issue though. Stopped to pet one of the jump judge’s dog. Somehow it got caught under a table, lost the plot, slipped its lead and ran off. Thankfully we caught it and I was able to return it unharmed.
Only me, huh?!
So I’m another year older. The sun shone, the birds sang and I’ve had a fabulous birthday.
A birthday hack was the perfect way to end a pretty perfect day. 😍
