Katie took me out to the local beach this afternoon for a dog walk.
My goodness it was stunning.

Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!

Greetings from Wales! Another long road trip today. 5 hours listening to podcasts, catching up with people and admiring the scenery. Saw 6 buzzards and red kites on my travels.
Here for a few days visiting a friend. So far we haven’t stopped talking. It’s going to be a fab few days.

What an incredible sunset tonight. The sky was on fire. It took my breath away.
It’s one of the more pleasant things about winter. I love the contrast between the bare trees.
It was a lovely way to end a pretty lovely day.

Finished a bonkers busy day with a chill out yoga class. Feeling totally chilled out indeed.
Not sure what happened to today. It was a blink and you miss it. But still managed to tick loads off my to do list and lunge Buddy before yoga.
Now flopped on the sofa – chilled, calm and utterly zen.

I got to talk about writing today. Something I love.
I gave a mini-Masterclass on how to write engaging copy, come up with content and other marketing tips.
I love being able to share my love of words with other people.

First clinic of the year. And it was with European Eventing Champion, Nicola Wilson.
We headed off to WHW this morning and after a detour due to the a closed road and having to stop twice to retie Buddy’s haynet, we arrived.
Buddy rarely eats while travelling, but today he was eating so vigorously, he pulled it off. Twice. 🤦🏻♀️ Second time I saw him do it on the camera. He’s so funny cause he stood starring at it.
The lesson was great. Really enjoyed it and learnt lots. Well once I got over my initial nerves and Buddy’s enthusiasm. One for me to work on as I know I get tight for the first 5-10 mins in a lesson. Once we start jumping, I totally relax.
We jumped a mix of show jumps and XC jumps. Buddy excelled himself. Even if some of my lines were more than iffy!!
Need to keep going and I know it’ll come together in a competition situation again.

Wow! I’ve just realised that I’ve been writing this blog for 2 years!
I started it as a safe space for me to talk about how I was feeling, to chart my recovery from a badly broken ankle and generally share my musings.
Has it been the roaring success I’d hoped for? No. Have I enjoyed writing it? Yes. Will I continued? Why not!
Thanks to everyone who’s commented, liked or shared it.
Here’s to the next year!
As an equestrian, one of my most used apps is the weather. Totally failed me today as it didn’t really suggest it would be quite such a wet and miserable day. Oh well, luckily most of my plans were indoors.
I love the sound of rain. I find it rather peaceful. I also love words. So to find there’s a word that sums it up, makes me very happy indeed.

I spotted that this little rose is flowering again. It’s called Snow White. It’s tiny but the flowers are so pretty.
Not sure when it should be flowering as it seems to come and go all year. It could be cause it’s been so mild. Hope the frosts and cold weather don’t affect it.
It won’t be long till the snowdrops start popping their heads up. Mother Nature is simply amazing.

Apparently today is National Cuddle Up Day. Dodo is on point as he climbed onto my arms to have a cuddle. Hugo then decided to try and get on my lap. It did not end well. Now they’re both sulking at different ends of the sofa. 🤦🏻♀️
Buddy gave me a lovely cuddle too earlier. Perfect on a cold day. Thought it did take a long time to be able to feel my feet, hands and face again after riding.
