HMD

You’ve heard of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, well this is Hoovering Manoeuvres in the Dark! I really need to get back to work and riding – I am disproportionately excited about this!! My life must be very dull. 😂

Good news bad news

It’s a good news, bad news kinda day. Had a really productive morning getting on top of my admin, took my lorry in to get some improvements made and took delivery of my new shiny Shark and the new mobile shower kit for Buddy.

Even managed to get the laundry out on the line! And dry in the balmy temperatures today.

Hurrah! Now the bad news. While stepping down the conservatory steps to get the laundry in, I got a really sharp pain in my bad foot. It’s now aching like you wouldn’t believe. So it’s elevated again. It keeps reminding me that it’s still not 100%. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Patience really isn’t my strong point….

Shark’s Tale

Today has been a bit of a revelation. My friend brought her Shark round for me to try. I hoovered it before she arrived. 5 minutes of Shark action and my carpet looks like new!! Seriously! It picked up so much cat hair and fluff. I was utterly shocked. So of course I ordered one for next day delivery. My carpets are in for a treat tomorrow. The bonus is that Shark make a donation to these charities on my behalf for buying one.

Does it make me sound really old that I’m so excited about a hoover?! I haven’t been this excited since I got my steam cleaner (or personal dragon as I like to call it). Well I am crashing towards 50 at an alarming rate…

Keep on walking

The last time I rode up this track it didn’t end well (broken ankle and all that). That was back on 2 Jan. Today I walked up it and back down again. It was such a lovely day today I wanted to get out and about. Obviously I would have preferred to ride up it but walking is the next best thing. After so many weeks of enforced rest and not being able to walk, I’m very appreciative of the fact I actually can walk up the gallop strip and back. The heavens opened while I was on my way back down. But do you know what, it didn’t bother me at all. I got soaked and felt alive. I couldn’t stop giggling to myself as I yomped along. Rocking the drowned rat look as always.

Something new

I woke up this morning utterly fed up of hacking up a lung and having no voice so I went to see Colette at East Norwich Acupuncture for some needles and cupping. Cupping feels rather odd, but definitely seemed to work. I had so much more energy afterwards and I seem to be coughing less. Hurrah!!

Snuggle up

It was cold today. I think the boys have the right idea. All snuggled up in double decker fashion. The fire was lit, the heating was on, yet they spent the whole day hidden away in the conservatory.

I snuggled on the sofa with my blanket instead and watched Lost Boys. It used to be one of my favourites, but now it looks so dated. The special effects were awful. Still Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland are easy on the eye.

Realigned at last

Just back from seeing my chiropractor for the first time this year!! Boy did she find lots to adjust. Hardly a surprise after a fall, many weeks of not doing much and being on one leg of a lot of it. I’m feeling a bit spacey at the moment. But it’s all part of the process. I got vegetable seeds at my chiro too. Looking forward to getting out in the potting shed and cracking on with this years ‘exploits in the greenhouse’.

It’s frustrating cause I want to crack on, but my body is lagging behind at bit. I’m at the ‘sexy’ stage of my cold where I sound like I could start my own sexline, until I have a coughing fit and sound like I’m bringing up a lung…

Rubber duckies

After slightly overdoing it yesterday, I had a more restful day today. My ankle reminded me that it is still early days of driving and walking in matching shoes. So had to listen. Thankfully the sunshine made sitting in the conservatory fairly blissful.

Did pop to Dunelm Mill to get a roller blind for my lorry and saw this. Had to be done! I love rubber ducks. I have quite a collection in my bathroom. I appreciate there’s an irony in that I don’t have a bath.
