Little D

Another day, another horsey venue ticked off for Bert. He’s getting quite the pro now! This time it was a trip to Little Downham to catch up with some friends. And watch one of my friend’s horse Flynn in the OI.

Bert got to meet Jeff the dog too. Who was rather amorous. Let’s just say there was a lot of humping. Given Jeff is at least half the size of Bert, it made for comical viewing. Bert’s legs were getting a lot of action. Not that he seemed bothered.

We did get to see lots of horses in action too. Between the chatting, laughing and catching up. It’s been a while.

Today was very good for the spirits. It reminded me how wonderful friendships can be when you pick right up where you left off.

The Thai meal we had afterwards was very good for the stomach. Well we needed to celebrate Flynn’s win! Winner, winner, Pad Thai Dinner.

Nice touch

Super sub went to the football tonight. My goodness it was a cold one! I was definitely ready for my hot chocolate at half time. And my hot cross bun! I do love half-time snacks.

I saw this in the Ladies. What a nice touch. Made me wonder how much I’d spent on sanitary products over the years. A lot most likely. I’m sure someone clever has worked out an average. Anyway, well done Norwich City.

Notice how I’m not talking about the actual match. That was definitely a game of two halves. First half, we scored twice. Hurrah! Second half, they scored three times. Boo!

You can’t win them all… But it would be good to see a win now and then at Carrow Road.

Bird battle

So today we found out that a seagull is better than a canary! My two teams were drawn in the FA Cup so only right that I pop along to Carrow Road to watch the match. One of those lovely matches where I didn’t mind who won.

It was a bit of a one sided affair, with Brighton proving to be the much better team. Very grateful I wore my Equidry. It was rather cold. Not much opportunity to jump up and down either. I felt it might be frowned upon to celebrate Brighton’s 4 goals…

Christmastide

The light of the world seemed a bit distant today. As was one of my headlights it seems. I’ll add that to my list of things to do. Wasn’t sure where I’d get that changed today.

It was very grey, cloudy and murky. At least there was a glimmer of joy as I got to watch Norwich win at Carrow Road.

It was a rather eery watching the mist descend over the ground. It was also blinking cold. I wished I’d double socked as my feet were very cold!

Fort Bert

You’ve heard of Fort Knox, well today my garden took a big step forward in becoming Fort Bert!

I was given some old fence panels a few years ago. I had all the best intentions of sorting out this bit of fencing. Somehow it never quite made it to the top of the list. Or anywhere near it, if I’m honest. Bert’s arrival has rapidly changed that.

I had planned to do it over the weekend, the weather put pay to that. So I decide today was the day! I thought I’d take advantage of the sunshine… that only lasted 5 mins before it started raining again.

I wish I’d taken a photo before I started. It took me an hour to get it to the top picture. It was rather overgrown.

It’s not the best job in the world I grant you. But I used a saw, hammer and secateurs – all without injuring myself! I’m taking that as a win. I’m going to paint the panels so they blend in a bit more too. And need to tweak it slightly.

I blocked off the driveway too. Still got a couple more bits to sort out before it’s completely puppy-proof. But ran out of steam and light today. Overall a very productive day.

Yellows

For the second Tuesday running I was ‘super sub’ at Carrow Road. And it appears my jinx had well and truly been lifted as it was the second home win with a score of 3-1.

There was a blast from the past too as John Ruddy was in goal. I used to have many a chat with him before the match. I have so many happy memories from behind the scenes. Very lucky indeed. Of course I did have to sweat a lot for them.

Sunday stroll

What a lovely way to start the day. A Sunday stroll round Blickling with Katie and Archie.

Buddy and Archie are so cute together. This morning when I went to get Buddy in, I told him we were going to see Archie and he came trotting over.

It was rather busy on the estate. But I guess it’s the nicest Sunday we’ve had for a while. So many people wanted to say hello to the boys too. Can’t believe we both bumped into people we knew.

Got home to watch Brighton v Liverpool in the FA Cup. Managed to avoid the result. I’m so glad I got to watch it without knowing Brighton had won! So all in all a pretty fab Sunday. And a very good one for this Sussex girl!

Lucky at last

My recent record at Carrow Road hasn’t been great. In fact my recent record of watching Norwich hasn’t been great. There have been a lot of loses and not much action. Today I broke my jinx and saw them win.

Wasn’t the best match. But I’ll take a 3-1 win. And Brighton beat Chelsea. So today has been a very good football day.

Lucky Lemur

Got the chance to go to Carrow Road tonight to watch Norwich City. It’s the first time I’ve been to see them back in the Championship. I can’t say it was a classic match. But I’ll take a 2-0 win.

I really do miss going to the football. It was such a big part of my life for so many years. Still feels odd being ‘a punter’ and not ‘a lemur’. At least I was a lucky lemur tonight.
