Storm Eunice

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent most of the day watching the weather change. It’s been howling most of it. In between sunshine, rain, hail and black skies.

My little house has been creaking. The conservatory sounded like it was going to take off at one point. Thankfully it’s all still standing so far.

After Storm Dudley yesterday, Storm Eunice was much fiercer. They sound like an old couple who’ve had a tiff! Dudley gave his best, but my god Eunice has had the last word!

Hope you’re all safe.

Rainy day

As an equestrian, one of my most used apps is the weather. Totally failed me today as it didn’t really suggest it would be quite such a wet and miserable day. Oh well, luckily most of my plans were indoors.

I love the sound of rain. I find it rather peaceful. I also love words. So to find there’s a word that sums it up, makes me very happy indeed.

Weirdness

So it seems that the weather is a weird as the world right now. It’s been sunshine and showers, with a few hailstones thrown in for good measure.

Oh and cold. Did I mention cold?! Spent the day wrapped in a blanket working at my desk. Got my layers wrong when I went to the yard too so started cold, ended cold and took forever to get warm.

Winter is definitely not my favourite season. The sky was very beautiful this afternoon though. There’s still so much green about. Weird.

Contrasts

I headed over to Martham this morning to catch up with a client. On my way I saw these beautiful sunflowers. Sunflowers always make me smile. These looked so cheery against the grey clouds.

I know it’s very British to complain about the weather, but seriously, what’s up with it…?!

Fluidity

I’ve had a frustrating day. Was meant to hack with a friend, but the weather put pay to that. We took a rain check till tomorrow instead.

Arrived for my 5:30 blood donation appointment to be told they’d sent me a text to say they were cancelling it due to staff shortages. I checked my phone. Text arrived at 5:07 while I was driving there.

They said they’d made the decision at 10:30 to prioritise other blood groups. Phoned to complain. Again. Second time this has happened now. Last time I didn’t get a text at all.

Never mind, thought I’d go and lunge Buddy. Then remembered I had a webex at 7pm. Dialled in and it had been moved to 8pm. Doh!

So my day was been a fluid as the weather.

All weathers

Buddy and I are off to camp tomorrow. Being a good equestrian, I’ve check 4 weather apps for the week.

So far I’ve packed everything from shorts & t-shirts to waterproofs and fleeces.

July you say. Summer you say. Four seasons in one day you say. 🤪 Bring it on….

Longest Day

Today is the Summer Solstice. Not that you’d know it, it’s blinking freezing here today. Back to jumpers and even got out the blanket again. Very odd weather. Last week I was in shorts! And complaining it was too hot.

What would we Brits do without the weather to talk about…?!
