Thankful

Back home after a long couple of days in Wales. Very productive ones though. Last night I sat in my very luxurious hotel room feeling so thankful for the way my business is going.

You know it’s a posh room when housekeeping come to turn your bed down. And give you an Elemis pillow spray for good measure.

Don’t get me wrong, running my own business is bloody hard. But I get to do things that bring me joy, utilise my extensive skill set and I work with some great people. Oh and I get paid for it!

This morning I woke up to a rather stunning view. After eating so much yesterday, I wasn’t sure I’d want breakfast. Still managed a full Welsh though. I may not need to eat for the rest of the week now…

Still the food choices are all made for the conference. It’s going to be a good one.

Food taster

Greetings from Wales! Yes I’m on my travels again. Flying visit to Celtic Manor for one of the very fun bit of my job – food and beverage choices for a conference I’m working on.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love anyone who feeds me (given my lack of ability to do it myself). So this is heaven. Today I’ve consumed 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts.

As if that wasn’t enough there were 4 wines to choose from too. Finished the day with a cocktail and canapés.

Such fun! Sat with the chef chatting food options. Now I may be culinarily challenged, but I know a lot about food. I knew watching all those cooking programmes would come in handy. We’ve got a cracking menu for the two days.

Now retired to my room as my food-coma is setting in. And what a room.

Have I mentioned I love my life?!

Step count

Blimey what a day! Definitely hit my step count today. Over 22k done. Most of which were going up and down between the floors in the hotel from one conference area to another!

Still things are going well. Few issues, but there always are behind the scenes. Most people don’t get to see that side of it. But as long as the delegates enjoy it tomorrow, that’s the main thing.

This carved dragon kept me going as it made me smile every time I walked past. I love a dragon. Must be my Welsh blood.

Welsh Wales

This is my home for the next few days. I’m here working at a conference. Not the nicest day to be doing a 260 mile drive. It was aquaplane galore on the motorways. The Comedy Car held its own against the onslaught of rain. I could hardly hear myself think it was so loud at times.

Took me nearly 6 hours to get here as there was a hold up on the M25. Still I’m here now, fed and watered and ready for the off.

Activate Swan-mode!!

Puppy Love

You know you’ve made a really good impression when you go to leave and the dog wants to come home with you.

Back home after my trip to North Wales. It was utterly brilliant. Loved spending time with Katie and her family. Thank you for making me so welcome.

Even managed to catch up with my nieces Amy and Katie and my great-nephew Alex on the way back.

It was a long way, but worth it. I shall sleep well tonight.

Great Orme

Another outing today. To Llandudno to check out the view from Great Orme. Snowdon was hiding in the cloud cover. But I could see Snowdonia National Park.

North Wales has been a revelation. I had no idea how beautiful it was. I love going new places. Old Colwyn is one I will definitely want to come back to again.

Sea view

Greetings from Wales! Another long road trip today. 5 hours listening to podcasts, catching up with people and admiring the scenery. Saw 6 buzzards and red kites on my travels.

Here for a few days visiting a friend. So far we haven’t stopped talking. It’s going to be a fab few days.
