Pay it forward

What a fab day jump judging at Great Witchingham Horse Trails. It’s the first time in 3 years I’ve been able to do it and it was as much fun as ever.

There were some incredible horse and riders. It’s really inspiring watching top riders in action.

I got a bit emotional coming home. Sad that I’m not competing tomorrow. And sad that it looks like it’ll be their last BE season. So aiming to do the one they’ll be holding in July.

At least they’ll still be doing Unaffiliated Events so I’m aiming for them too. Watch out Buddy, we’re getting back out there.

Stable relationship

Back home after a fabulous weekend in Warwickshire. Katie and I got through so much work. I’m not sure we stopped talking the whole time too. Super excited about the new few months. I’m going to be a busy girl.

I’ll never be too busy for my little boy though. Just what I needed when I got home. Glorious sunshine, beautiful countryside and a chance to switch my brain off.

Blue skies

What a difference a week makes (and a few good nights sleep). Last week we were confined to barracks due to the storms. Today it was beautiful sunshine.

Think Buddy was as happy as I was to be back out hacking. It’s amazing how the weather can affect your mood. And a lack of good quality sleep. Self-care comes in many guises. This is definitely part of mine.

Storm Eunice

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent most of the day watching the weather change. It’s been howling most of it. In between sunshine, rain, hail and black skies.

My little house has been creaking. The conservatory sounded like it was going to take off at one point. Thankfully it’s all still standing so far.

After Storm Dudley yesterday, Storm Eunice was much fiercer. They sound like an old couple who’ve had a tiff! Dudley gave his best, but my god Eunice has had the last word!

Hope you’re all safe.

Winter Wonderland

While Winter isn’t my favourite season, I do love the frosty sunny days. There’s something magical about the warmth of the sun against the cold crunch of the frost.

This morning it was a whiteout. But soon the sun was streaming in through the conservatory. Just beautiful.

Good tired

I have to admit, I’m a tad tired today. But a really good tired. The kind where you know you’ve done good stuff. I love driving but motorway driving can be tiring.

It was such a gorgeous day that I could resist heading down to the yard to ride. I’d missed his little face. He sniffed me all over so guessing he missed me too.

The kittens were like shadows today. They’d barely left my side. It’s nice to be missed.

Calm the storm

What is it they say? The sun shines on the righteous? Well I’ll take that today. After watching sideways rain most of the day, Buddy and I braved it. So glad we did. The sun shone the whole way round. We watched the clouds rolling towards us. And saw a rainbow. But made it back before the heavens opened.

Good job too as it was a hailstorm! Which I got caught in getting more coal. Rather that way round!

Golden rays

Another thing I love about Autumn is the golden rays as the sun sets (even if I don’t like the fact this was at 15:39). It brings such a wonderful warm feeling to everywhere. Even if it was rather fresh today. Definitely time to break out the thicker jodhpurs soon…

Autumn hue

The weather chose well today. After yesterday’s indecisiveness, it was sunshine today. My goodness the wind was bitter though. Winter is on its way.

After the chaos of the past few weeks, this was the calm I definitely needed today.
