Lucky socks

I think I might need to buy myself some new ‘lucky socks’. I bought these when I first started competing Murphy. That was a very long time ago now. Well I bought him in 2010. I wonder how many competitions I have worn them for. I’m not usually a superstitious person, but when it comes to competing, it appears I am. I have to put my right sock on first. Funny huh?!

I bought myself a new competition shirt when I was at Hickstead. Typically I didn’t look at socks.

I can’t even remember why these became my lucky socks. Maybe I just liked them. Whatever they have served me well.

Jack Frost

Well Jack Frost certainly made an appearance today. Woke up to a freezing fog and thick frost. It looked very pretty. But didn’t do much for my motivation to leave the cottage.

Headed to the yard to sort my stuff out in the barn. Definitely got my sock choice wrong. Talk about ice blocks for feet!! There was lots of ice at the yard too. And more forecast tonight.

I was meant to be taking Buddy to a clinic tomorrow. But the Buddymobile wouldn’t start. I tried to start it up to check all was OK. But sadly, it doesn’t seem to like the cold either.

Having just watched the forecast for tomorrow, not sure many people will be going far tomorrow…

And rest

This morning I woke up and felt the need to be.

So of course that meant I did the housework, spend a few hours weeding and went for a lovely hack.

It’s my kind of ‘being’ I guess.

My British Eventing socks made me laugh. First time I’ve worn them. Can you see the cats on them?
