Nice touch

Super sub went to the football tonight. My goodness it was a cold one! I was definitely ready for my hot chocolate at half time. And my hot cross bun! I do love half-time snacks.

I saw this in the Ladies. What a nice touch. Made me wonder how much I’d spent on sanitary products over the years. A lot most likely. I’m sure someone clever has worked out an average. Anyway, well done Norwich City.

Notice how I’m not talking about the actual match. That was definitely a game of two halves. First half, we scored twice. Hurrah! Second half, they scored three times. Boo!

You can’t win them all… But it would be good to see a win now and then at Carrow Road.

Indecisive

I was meant to be judging a show jumping competition today. Sadly it was cancelled due to low numbers. As I had a free day, there was so much I could have done, it took me a while to decide. In the end, I pottered about, mowed the lawn and tidied up the garden.

This afternoon, Buddy and I went out for a ride today with a pair with a combined age of 102! Pretty special huh? Buddy was so cute as he walked at Sam’s pace. Well once we got going. We headed off in one direction, then had to turn back. So made a new plan. Then changed that too.

We had a lovely wander. As the boys were so good, they got snacks on the way back. They were much more decisive!

Salty snacks

I’ve been craving salt recently. I’m guessing it’s cause of the humidity and a bit of sweating. I usually have electrolytes but I’ve run out (yes they’re on the shopping list). I mentioned this to the chiropractor and she checked me. Totally agreed that I need more salt. Let’s face it, I have to be different.

So on my way back, I stopped for some salty snacks. Can’t beat salted peanuts or salty popcorn. It was only when I got home that I realised I’d accidently picked up sweet popcorn. Doh!

At least a packet of peanuts hit the salty craving.

Eyes bigger than

I gave my 64th blood donation today. One of the best bits is the post-donation snacks. Well that and knowing that I could be saving a life of course. Today I picked popcorn. I love popcorn. But it’s not something I have very often.

I love the fact this is a mix of sweet and salty. Always what I ask for at the cinema.

However, I didn’t quite appreciate how big the bag was. Definitely a case of eyes bigger than my belly! I couldn’t finish it. So came home with half a bag. And unlike the cinema, I won’t be finding it in random places. How does that happen?! Guess it’s a bit like hay. Gets everywhere…

Favourite spot

Hugo is loving the warmer weather. He’s also loving the fact the garden furniture comes out. He staked his claim to the garden chair today. He was most upset when I turfed him off it so I could eat my lunch. He was back on it before I’d made it back to the conservatory.

He was still there when I got back from the yard. Nearly 4 hours later!!

I’m with him on the warmer weather. Things seem so much better when the sun is shining. Buddy got a bubble bath today. Though he was more interested in the grazing afterwards to dry off. Typically he kept wanting to eat the bits in the shade. He was very appreciative of the cow parsley and cleavers. It really is the simple things in life.

Never shop hungry

This is exactly why they say you should never shop hungry!! My eye test took so long that I needed snacks afterwards.

Somehow managed to spend £38 in Poundland. I wasn’t sure that was possible. Now I know it’s been a while since I’ve been to Poundland, but it needs to rename ‘Not so Poundland’! There wasn’t much in there that was a pound. Another victim of inflation I guess.

Good news! My eyes are OK for another year. I could get the prescription upped but they don’t really need it. Got very confused when the lady told me that it’s more cost effective to get a new pair of glasses than replace the lenses in the ones I have. Not sure how that helps sustainability and all that. Well apart from my old glasses could be donated to another country. Still feels a bit odd.

Canapés

Took Buddy for a wander to cool him off after his lunge session. He was very happy to have some snacks on the way. But then I did interrupt his dinner so it was fair. Then I got chatting and forgot to put his dinner back in. Buddy showed his distain by putting most of hay on the yard instead.

He really does make me giggle.
