Roar

The kittens have made a nest in the border. It’s a great way for them to keep cool in the heat we’ve had. She says as it’s chucking it down. That’ll be my fault. I put the shade sail up. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hugo makes me giggle. He’s found his voice in recent weeks. He’s proper chatty now. Think he’s going through the awkward teenage stage as it’s a little squeaky. Hard to take him seriously…

Rainbow’s end

After another day of random rainfall, spotted this beautiful rainbow at the yard. It reminded me of a wonderful quote from Maya Angelou ‘Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud’.

While doing my meal deliveries, I was complemented on how cheery and smiley I am. How lovely is that?! 😊

Storm clouds

That moment when you can’t work out if the rain is coming towards you or going to head past. Sadly it was the former. Another hack, another soaking. ☔️🤦🏻‍♀️

Buddy wasn’t impressed with the rain down ear look. Have to say I agreed with him there! It’s May for crying out loud. I couldn’t feel my thighs or hands by the time I got back.

So glad I watered all of the plants that I planted out today… Still it was a very good Sunday.

Be prepared

First training camp of the year and in typical fashion, it tips it down!! Learning from previous experience, I packed extra clothes this time.

Good job too! Soaked through after the first lesson. Second set of clothes on – including a different coat for the second lesson. Seems the one I have isn’t waterproof. But then, there was a lot of rain!!

Ever resourceful, I made a washing line out of a lunge line so I can hang everything up to dry. My Dad was a scout leader when I was growing up so I was practically raised with the motto ‘be prepared’.

Pleased to report that both lessons went brilliantly. We have definitely improved since the last camp. I even got a ‘good’ from the instructor. That rarely happens. 😝

Bluebells

Well today felt like we’d gone back to winter! It’s been torrential rain, hail and very cold. Rather fortunate to time it right and be able to hack in the sunshine.

The rain has meant that the bluebells in my front garden have exploded! I do love bluebells.

Hail Dodo

This is the face of a cat who’s been woken up by the hail on the conservatory roof. I was listening to some online training, had to stop it as I couldn’t hear it over the noise. All 3 cats weren’t impressed!

It’s been one of those days where we’ve had 4 seasons in one day. From glorious sunshine to sleet, with rain and hail mixed in for good measure.

My garden day turned into a house day instead. Ticked lots off the list, so can’t complain. Happy Sunday everyone.

Friday feeling

After a long day on the laptop, spending time with Buddy was just what I needed. Wasn’t expecting the rain though. It was so loud on the roof. Very grateful for the indoor school.

All in all it’s been a pretty good week. I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend.

Calm after the storm

It’s been a very windy, wet and sunny day here today. The kind of day that makes you want to go back into hibernation. My conservatory is the perfect place to watch the trees sway, the clouds blow by and the kittens tear around the garden.

Had a couple of podcasts to listen to so seemed like a good place to do that this afternoon. I’ve had a really productive week so far, so good to take a bit of time away from the laptop.
