Late bloomer

How pretty is this rose? It’s almost glowing. The only issues is that it really shouldn’t be flowering right now. It’s so mild, I have lots of things coming back. My sweet peas have started to grow again.

Not that I’m complaining. My garden looks really pretty with lots of new growth. My lawn needs mowing. But it’s nearly November.

The weather feels as surreal as my life right now. So I’m grounding myself and focusing on the little things.

Diamond wishes

I bought this patio rose about a month ago. It’s exploded with blooms overnight. It smells divine too. I sat on the patio for my breakfast and lunch sniffing it.

It’s called ‘Diamond Wishes’. It had to be done for My Absolute Diamond, Buddy. Not sure pink is his colour though. Thankfully he probably won’t see it.

Buddy has made many of my wishes come true. My current wish is for him to continue to recover from his injury so we can get back to the things we love doing.

I think it’s very pretty indeed. I do love a rose. Well I am an English one.

Pretty toes

Today I did something that I haven’t done for years. I painted my toenails. Not sure what came over me. But it made me very happy. OK, so they do look like a small child has done them. But who cares?!

Self-care comes in many guises. This was mine for today.

Pretty in pink

It shows that the weather has been a bit odd recently. This camellia flowers after my other one. Usually in late April. But this year, it’s very ahead of itself.

It always makes me smile as it’s so pretty. Perfect on a grey, cold day. I was fighting hibernation-mode today. After the glorious sunshine of the past few days, it was a bit of a shock to be cold again.

Hydrangeas

Over the years, my flower tastes have changed. I used to find hydrangeas ugly. Not sure why. Maybe it’s because I thought of them as old ladies flowers (careful!!). Now I love them. I have several in my garden and I will be adding more. This one has just started flowering. It’s so pretty.
