Planning ahead

Today I did something that makes me smile every year. I paid for my first camp. It’s at the end April, so fingers crossed it warms up a bit.

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you know how much I love a camp. What’s not to love? Spending time away with Buddy. Learning from great instructors. Catching up with wonderful people. Making new friends. And this time I get to take Bert with me. Let’s hope he likes camps as much as Buddy and I do.

He’s making his debut at Forest Edge next week. We’re booked onto a day clinic. So this will be a good test of his ‘Lorry Dog’ status. Buddy will be so happy to be back there too. After his injury last year, it’ll be good to be back there and actually do the riding bit. I’ll always be a supporter.

Sunbather

So it seems Bert is a bit of a sun worshipper too. He and the kittens have been laid out sunbathing today.

He was a rather hot pupster after our walk this morning. But insisted on a bit more sunbathing over lunch. We met a lovely couple on our walk today. The wife was gardening and Bert wanted to say hello. Ended up talking to her and her husband for a long time. She even got Bert a bowl of water while we chatted. They were telling me some of the history of Strumpshaw village. They’ve both lived there all their lives. In fact the husband was born in the house they live in. 81 years ago. She was born down the lane.

I love it when I have random meetings like that. It’s really cool to find out stuff about the area I live in.

Horsey people

After mucking out 3 horses this morning (and sweating about 3 gallons), I headed over to Forest Edge to catch up with the campers there. And a lot more sweating for good measure.

There were road closures so I ended up on a magical mystery tour of Swaffham. I saw bits I have no idea were there!

Finally arrived, very hot and bothered, so it was lovely to see so many friendly faces. Lots asked how Buddy was doing. It was sweet to hear that we’ve been missed.

It was sweltering over there, so part of me was glad I wasn’t riding. Of course, the much bigger part wished I was.

As I drove home, I reflected on how lost I would be without the horsey people in my life. I’ve made so many friends as a result. Friends that have become family. Friends that I can’t imagine life without.

Very grateful indeed to my horsey family. Buddy and I will be there for the final camp of the year. So watch out campers, we’ll be back!

Super sub

Today was my last shift covering at the Chiro’s. It’s been great fun peopling over the past few weeks. I’ve caught up with so many people. Met so many new ones too.

This cartoon made me giggle. Don’t get me wrong, technology is amazing. I spend a lot of time using it. But I still prefer a good old fashioned chat. And I’ve done a lot of chatting. Hard to believe I know, I’m such a reserved sort…

Sunbeams

The chiropractor’s receptionist is on holiday, so super sub has been called into action. 8 extra days of peopling this month! Today was the first day and it was so great to catch up with lots of the patients I haven’t seen for a while. My face is aching from smiling all day.

I’ve been working there for a few years now. So I’ve met an awful lot of people there now. Being with people really boosts me. The joys of being an extrovert I guess. I also find it really interesting the conversations I end up having. Here’s to two more days this week.

Bluebells

The bluebells are out at Blickling so it had to be done. A gorgeous Spring day too. And the first ride round without a coat.

It was rather busy in the car park, but we had lots of the park onto ourselves. It’s so special.

When we did meet people, there were two topics of conversation – how handsome our horses were and how beautiful the bluebells were. The sun shining really does improve people’s moods.

Peopling

I’ve been peopling again today. 10 hours of it in fact! I’ve been back working at the chiropractor’s. I met some really interesting people too. I find it fascinating hearing people’s stories. You never know what people have done in their lives.

As a child (and an adult), I was told I talk too much. A shock for those of you who’ve met me I’m sure. But sometimes, it really comes in handy. I can talk to anyone, about anything. And I’m a good listener. All handy life-skills it seems.

Looks are deceiving

Well that’s the Conference over. I’ve loved the last 3 days. I got to people. A lot. It’s been great meeting people I’ve worked with virtually in the flesh.

I’ve loved Edinburgh too. Blown away with how beautiful a city it is. Bugger me there are some hills though! Climbing back up to see the Castle in the daylight was a great idea. Carrying my rather heavy bag, backpack and banner while doing it wasn’t my best look. Talk about modern day packhorse. 😝

The ladies at the top took pity on me when I got there. It’s been a while since I did proper hills. The joys of living in Norfolk.

Got to the station to be sniffed several times by a police dog. Hope I wasn’t too stinky…

Thank you Edinburgh. I’ll definitely be back.

Sleepy

After 11 hours working for my chiro and a coaching client this evening, I am a tad tired. Saw this and thought it was rather apt.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow I’m sure. Today has been a lovely day though. Lots of peopling. 👏🏻 I do love meeting people.

PR Pip

Today has been such a fun day. I got to people this morning when I went to a face to face networking meeting. I did a session on how to introduce yourself with confidence. It seemed to have gone down well.

This evening I’ve been interviewed twice for different purposes. One about my coaching go journey and the other about taming your inner voice. I love getting the chance to speak to people. I’m definitely a people person.

All great opportunities for me to do a bit of PR for me and my businesses.

This was the sight that greeted me when I’d finished the second interview. It seems Hugo is still loving the conservatory roof. 🤦🏻‍♀️He’s a funny little boy.
