Visiting hours

Bit of deja vue today as I’m back in Haywards Heath visiting my Dad in hospital. FB told me it was a year since I had to drop everything to look after Mum when Dad was rushed in. Sadly we’ve had a few more visits in that year.

Today I got to visit them both! Different wards, but at least the same hospital this time. I’ve had them in different ones before.

They’re both in for the weekend. So looks like I’ll be doing a few visiting hours.

It’s been a stressful few days I can tell you.

Pease Pottage

Today has been a long day. 260 mile round trip to West Sussex. I’m off to a conference next week and needed to handover some stuff as I’m not doing the set up.

It meant meeting in the services at Pease Pottage. What a cracking name for a village! I kinda felt like a spy. Only less secretive…

As it’s not far from my parents, I did a surprise flying visit to see them. They were very shocked to see me. But my surprise was a welcome one.

Connections

I’m down at my parents for a few days and saw this map on the wall. It must have always been there, but I’ve just noticed it. Spooky that I should end up making Norfolk my home. I’ve found Strumpshaw is on there, but no Brundall.

Mum is recovering from a surgical procedure so I’ve come down to lend a hand (literally as the procedure was on her finger).

Down South

When I drive past this viaduct, I know I’m almost at my parents. Today it looked so beautiful in the evening sunshine.

For many years, I went over this on a daily basis on my way to London as it’s the main London to Brighton train line.

It really is a stunning piece of architecture.
