Appropriate clothing

My choice of t-shirt was absolutely on point today! Love it when that happens. I had a very lovely day planned. I was going to meet a friend for a lovely relaxed hack round Blickling…

First I overslept, then the weather forecast looks a bit suspect and it being school holidays all put pay to that. So we went for a very lovely lunch lunch instead. Just as enjoyable. We managed to sit out for some of it, but after being buffeted a little bit too much by the wind, we headed indoors.

Good job too as the heavens opened! That was a rather regular occurrence for the rest of the day. One minute sunshine, the next minute rain. I had to laugh as I ended up being stuck in a stable mid-muck out. Reminded me of the quote ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing’. My t-shirt was may have been apt, but didn’t really help to keep me dry. Maybe not that appropriate after all…

February sun

I felt like I needed to press the reset button today. I overslept (clearly needed it) so felt like I was chasing my tail (something Bert is rather good at).

So l thought I’d take the oversized Labrador out for a walk in the February sunshine. Well makes a change from the compact Sprocker.

I did one of my favourite rides. It definitely helped to reset my brain as I was getting a bit discombobulated with life.

Basking

I didn’t sleep very well last night. My brain was swirling. I haven’t had that sort of night for a while. I did a meditation before bed that stirred things up for me. Very odd as they usually send me to sleep.

As such I overslept. Not the best start to the week. So I decided a bit of self-care was in order. I finished up a few bits of work, then popped out into the garden to do a bit of weeding. At lunchtime, I headed to the conservatory to bask in the sunshine.

It was fresh outside, but it was toasty in there. It felt so good to feel the sun on my face.

Finish on a high

Having got that out of my system, I headed to the yard and popped Buddy over a few jumps. That put a big smile on my face as we were flying.

Finished the day off with another equestrian webinar. This time with Pippa Funnell and Mark Todd. Really interesting to hear their views on eventing. I’m loving hearing from the legends of the sport.

Not sure Hugo was as interested as I was Slightly distracting view if I’m honest. He does make me laugh though.
