Big coat

In preparation for the ‘big freeze’, I broke out Buddy’s ‘big coat’. Of course, it will now be much milder than they’re forecasting.

My ‘big coat’ was called into action too. First to take Bert for a walk. I did wait till the sleet had stopped. Then again to lunge Buddy over some raised poles. I say over, he nearly fell over them! Poles on the ground or raised are definitely something we need to work on. And when I say we…

Improvise

Had to improvise today as the indoor school was being harrowed when I went to lunge Buddy. So I took him out to his field. In the squally wind. That was interesting!

A couple of ‘wind up the tail’ moments. But for the most part he was his usual wonderful self.

I like to lunge him as it gives me a different view of him and his way of going. He’s looking really well at the moment. Good job too with his crack support team!

One of whom I met for breakfast. It was really good to chat without a horse in the way. Though there were rather large sausage baps involved. I’ll let you insert your own jokes there.

Canapés

Took Buddy for a wander to cool him off after his lunge session. He was very happy to have some snacks on the way. But then I did interrupt his dinner so it was fair. Then I got chatting and forgot to put his dinner back in. Buddy showed his distain by putting most of hay on the yard instead.

He really does make me giggle.

Halloween

Given Buddy’s had a bit of time off while I was away, I thought it best to lunge him today. I was expecting a bit of a horror show but he was rather sedate.

I’ve been forgiven it seems as he gave me lots of nuzzles and a bit of grooming. He makes my heart burst, he really does.

Looking forward to hacking out tomorrow.

Evening sun

This evening I decided to lunge Buddy in his field. It was such a lovely evening. He was a little bit confused to start off with. Soon got the idea. He’s looking so well and shiny at the moment. It’s lovely to see.

Now on the sofa watching the England match.
