Junction 21

I ended up in Themelthorpe for lunch today. At Junction 21 Tea Room. What a wonderful find that was! Stunning views out across the fields. Made me very happy indeed. I do love it when I can’t see another house. Just nature.

It’s on the Marriotts Way. Somewhere that I’ve realised I’ve not explored yet. So I must rectify that. You can ride along it too I’ve heard. So I’ll have to bring Buddy next time.

Though it might make lunch a bit more of a challenge. Thankfully the owner is horsey, so you never know.

On a knife edge

Am I the only person who goes out for lunch and comes home with new knives?!

Yes I promise I will be VERY careful with them. I needed some new knives after snapping the tip off one and breaking the handle on another. So when I saw these today, I couldn’t resist.

Not sure they’ll suddenly turn me into a domestic goddess though. Might make ‘chopping and combining’ slightly easier.

Rose to the occasion

Took my friend Colette over to Peter Beales Roses for her birthday outing. We had a lovely lunch, then wandered round the garden and garden centre.

It was a bit chilly, but we managed to avoid the showers. Lots of the roses may have gone over, but there was still a lot to see.

As a child, I was brought up with birthday outings. I’m so glad that I can continue this tradition with my friends too.

Smell the roses

I had my first birthday outing today. My friend Anni took me for lunch at Peter Beales Roses. Not sure either of us thought we’d be there over 3 hours wandering round the gardens and smelling the roses. My goodness, there were some heavenly smelling ones.

The time flew by and we could have stayed for longer. Came away with my birthday present too – 2 beautiful clematis.

Suffolk fun

Headed to Suffolk today to meet a friend for lunch. Good job we weren’t meeting at the pub. My phone decided that you don’t need data while you’re on the phone so my Sat Nav thought I was still at home. 😱 Needless to say, I took the scenic route.

Still it was work it for a lovely day. Great food, great company and a TMJ release to boot.

Saw this sign in the pub. I’m such a child…. 😂

National Trust

Today my friend Colette took me to Felbrigg Hall NT for my birthday outing. First time I’d been there. In fact it was the first time I’d heard of it. So glad we went though. It’s beautiful there. Wandered round the walled garden, had lunch in there cafe, then wandered some more through the woods and to the lake.

It was a lovely day indeed. And we managed to include a saddlery and a garden centre on the way back.

Simple pleasures

Another lovely lunch out today. This time at the Oaklands Hotel, Norwich. Their terrace is perfect for alfresco dining. The sun even made an appearance. Not quite ready to ditch my duvet coat just yet though.

This toilet roll holder made me smile. Sometimes it the simple pleasures in life. Good food, good company and a sheep on the wall.
