Weather the storm

Blimey! That was one hell of a storm last night. I was woken up by the heavy rain, thunder and lightening. The rain was so hard I thought the skylight in the bathroom was going to smash. Not what you need at 12:15.

The air was much clearer this morning. And so was my head. The Comedy Car was delivered to the garage first thing. Should be sorted in a few days. And not it didn’t cost as much as I feared. So that’s another thing off the list.

The clouds were ominous this evening while I was at the yard. It felt rather Autumnal.

I’m sure there will be many more storms to weather. Right now, I seem to be weathering this one. Let’s hope the metaphorical ones are done for a while.

Cloud busting

Buddy and I got trapped today. I was planning on taking him out for a hack. But as I was tacking up, the heavens opened and it threw it down!!

And not just rain, hail stones, thunder and lightening. A proper Summer storm. It was so heavy, I didn’t want to leave his stable. In fact I could barely see the other side of the stable yard. Eventually it eased enough for us to make a break to the indoor arena.

As you can tell Buddy was thrilled by it all.

Sunflower

I got back from my parents to find this beauty in my garden. I love sunflowers. This is the first time I’ve grown them for many many years. I’m grateful that I was gifted a few. They’re all growing well.

I had a good journey back from Sussex. The M25 was surprisingly clear. The same can’t be said about the weather. It was a tad soggy. But the lightning makes me smile. Good job too as there was a lot of that.
