Daffodils

I spotted these lovely daffodils this morning. Daffodils always make me smile. They are such cheery flowers.

Spring is definitely here. It’s my favourite season. I may have mentioned that. The one thing I don’t like about Spring though is the multiple outfits required. I took Bert out for a walk first thing in a down jacket and gloves. Brrrr.

Come afternoon and I arrived at the yard with overtrousers, fleece and jacket. The sun came out and the layers came off. I popped Buddy over a few jumps and was too hot in just a base layer.

Then once the sun had set, it was back to fluffy socks and many layers. Good job I have lots and lots of layers.

Wonderful

What a difference a day makes huh? On Tuesday, I needed my layers as I rode round Blickling. Today, I needed less. It was wonderful to be back there. In the glorious sunshine.

I’ve had a wonderful day all round. One of those days where things line up and you seem to sail through things. Lots of wonderful things happened. Nothing earth shattering, but wonderful nonetheless.

Buddy had a wonderful day out with his friend Archie. Bert had a wonderful day when he discovered my yard owners dogs’ food. Little piggy!

The after effect of that aren’t quite so wonderful. His puppy farts are off the scale! He’s even spooked himself with them. I know I shouldn’t laugh, but I think he’s disgusted himself.

Glimmers

I took Bert out for his constitutional this morning. It was a very grey and gloomy affair that’s for sure.

I’m getting rather fed up of the gloom. I’m craving sunshine and moaning I’m too hot. Still there were glimmers of hope. I saw daffodils, crocuses and snowdrops starting to push through the soil. Spring is on its way.

Things do look quite green at the moment, but that’s cause there’s so much moss about! A byproduct of the damp conditions I’m guessing.

I’m really enjoying taking Bert out for his little walks. He’s 16 weeks old now, but still can’t do too much. He doesn’t seem to get he has a limit, so I’m being very careful with my baby boy.

I do look like a Michelin Man with all my layers, but at least I’m kinda warm. Most walks I come back and I can’t feel my face! Good job I’m used to spending a lot of time outdoors.

All cuddled up

Right, I know I said you can’t control the weather, but this is just ridiculous now. Maybe Mother Nature didn’t like the fact I said I was fully prepared for Summer?! If so, I’m sorry. Please can we have sunshine again?

The winter dressing gown and fluffy socks have been drafted back into action. They thought they were getting a little break. My 1 tog duvet has been cast aside. The new shorts I bought are still in the bag.

Today I was back in a thermal base layer, a jacket and a gillet! It’s July. I should be moaning I’m too hot.

I must say that I am enjoying the kitten cuddles. They are little purry hot water bottles. We’re all cuddled up listening to the rain on the roof.

Cold feet

Oh boy did I need this after an afternoon at Carrow Road. It was a tad fresh! I couldn’t feel my feet, thighs or face! Sadly the match was a bit dull, so that didn’t keep me warm either. I ws back to hat, gloves and the big coat.

I do love a hot chocolate. It’s like a meal in a mug. The downside? I wasn’t hungry when I got home. Even after a hot shower, my feet haven’t warmed up.

Guess I’ll be packing extra layers for camp next week. It could be cold overnight. I am not a fan of cold feet, that’s for sure.

Layered look

Today saw the return of the overtrousers! It’s 1 June, right?! I’ve been cold all day. The fan heater made an appearance at one point. As did the layered look. I headed to the yard wearing many!

Decided to free jump Buddy. He made me laugh as I’d barely set up the channel and he trotted over the jump. He’s so easy to work with. He picks which way he wants to go. It’s so much fun.

Thought I’d let him play, so kept putting it up for him. He was loving it. Ended up at belly button height – an official measuring system right there! Guessing it was 1.10m or so. I’ve got long legs so who knows?!

We were both a tad warm by the end. I didn’t need all my layers after all.

Layers

Today I went out for hack fearing I’d overlayered. There was some warmth in the sun and it felt very Spring-like indeed.

Halfway round, the sun disappeared and I was very grateful of my extra layers. It felt very Wintery again.

At least we didn’t see any April Showers.
