Human beings

Today was one of those days where I felt torn between doing and being. So I did a mix of both.

I sat on the patio in the glorious sunshine. Having breakfast, journaling and topping up my Vitamin D. It felt so good to just be. To fill my lungs with air and empty my head onto the pages. I even practiced observing my garden, without making a mental note of the things that need to be done. That is very hard for me.

As I was on a writing roll, I drafted the latest newsletter for Carleton Riding Club. An easy bit of doing.

Even easier was taking Buddy out for another long hack. We did the same ride as yesterday – but in reverse. Well you’d think Buddy had never been out before! He was very confused by it all.

As I rode along, I remembered this saying. We are human beings not human doings.

I’ve got a busy period coming up, with lots of doing. So glad I took the change to focus on being. For a change.

Convalescing

After a much better night’s sleep, I woke up feeling much more human again. Thank goodness.

The sunshine helped massively too. It’s amazing how the sun can make such a difference. It was too nice not to take Buddy out for a hack.

It was blissfully quiet. Well apart from the bird scarer. That was rather loud. First time it went off, all four feet left the floor. Second time, was much closer to us and I think I jumped more than he did.

Human

I stood for 10 hours today as I was covering reception for my chiro. Cause my legs weren’t aching enough after walking miles round Burghley. Let’s just say there was lots of stretching going on behind the desk.

Being human seemed to be the theme of the day. That and technical gremlins. There seemed to be lots of equipment misbehaving today.

Saw this quote and it really resonated. Lots of the clients and I discussed how looks can be very deceiving. Life is full of ups and downs. Riding the rollercoaster makes us human.

I do love peopling.
