Club together

Day 162: club together. Back home after a fab weekend away at the BRC Arena Eventing Champs. Lots of driving, but the Buddymobile did me proud. And now has a new memento onboard.

First time that someone else has slept in the lorry with me. It was a little cramped but we made it work. The heater was needed to keep us warm during the night. Poor Sam had a hard night as the air mattress deflated.

Oh and I have a very cute snore. Whoops!

Buddy and the kittens were pleased to see me. And I will be pleased to see my bed tonight.

I love being part of a riding club. It’s so much fun doing stuff as a team. I also love being able to help a friend and support others. It makes me very happy indeed.

It was Carleton Riding Club’s AGM tonight. I’ve really enjoyed being part of the club this year. I’ve had some great training sessions with them, attended their shows and even represented them in teams and at the Championships.

Seems they have enjoyed having me around too. Tonight I was awarded the ‘Contribution to the Club’ trophy. For supporting, helping out and generally being a good egg.

Such a lovely surprise to be recognised for something I do willingly. I do love to help if I can.

Friends

This came up on my memories today. It was true then and it’s true now. I’m so grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life. No man is an island they say. And it’s very true. We need good people in our corner. To lift us up, to cheer us on and to celebrate with us.

I’ve had to learn how to ask for help. And accept it. It’s not always been easy. I do try to help others but sometimes feel awkward asking in return.

So if you’re reading this. Thank you for being there and for being you. I appreciate each and every one of you.
