Dimness

I was a bit scratchy today. It’s Tax Return time. Enough said huh?!

Honestly, I’m nearly 55. I should be able to do my return without a borderline panic attack. The joys of 30 years of PAYE and someone doing it for me. I think it’s the way the questions are written. I haven’t got a clue what they’re asking most of the time.

Anyway I did as much as I could (yes I phoned a friend who’s helping tomorrow) and headed to the yard for some much needed Buddy time. Bert has had to take centre stage so Buddy and the kittens have been supporting players recently. It felt good to get out on Buddy.

On my way back, I stopped at the garage to get my headlight sorted. I let them know that Bert was in the car. He had 5 people wanting to meet him and have cuddles. See, centre stage.

They all commented on how handsome he is and how calm. He wasn’t so calm this evening as he was tearing round my office and chewing my blanket. The former makes me laugh, the later made me cry.

It’s not damaged but it is the blanket I was given by my Nanna. It belonged to my Grampy. The man Bert is named after. I know it’s just a blanket, but the connection to my Mum kinda hit me. Lots of tears from me. I guess it’s going to happen. Grief is a very tricky path to navigate sometimes. But like HMRC!

Kittyversary

4 years go today these two adorable fluff balls arrived Chez Langley. I remembered how small the carrier was that they came in. I’d forgotten how small kittens are. These two were tiny!

They’ve grown into very handsome little boys indeed. Even if for the first few weeks I thought one was a girl. Soon became very obvious that she was a he.

They make me giggle with their antics. Shortly after taking this picture, Hugo pounced on Dodo. They then chased each other round the garden.

And yes, they will probably always be called the kittens.

Monarch

It’s new rug day for Buddy. His old one has seen better days. The tail flap is hanging by a thread. It’s covered in scratches where he insists on standing with his bum in the brambles. Starting to regret buying him a new one already.

This one is called Monarch and is Royal Blue of course. Only fitting for my little boy. Well he does have King of Diamonds and eventing royalty in his bloodlines.

I think he looks super handsome in it. Of course, this is probably the last time it will be this colour. Tomorrow it will be brown…

Barnet

Buddy had another haircut today. His first clip had grown out so quickly. He got very sweaty during our lessons on Tuesday. Thankfully Melanie was able to come out and do him this morning.

So much hair came off him. In fact I think more came off this time than the first time he was clipped.

Doesn’t he look super handsome?!

Feed me

This is either the face of a cat who’s missed me while I was at work. Or the face of a cat who wants to be fed. You decide?!

Whichever it was, Dodo was very attentive when I got back and fired up the laptop to do some client work.

He really has grown into a rather handsome chap.

Shiny boy

Someone was looking super handsome after his bubble bath today. Admittedly he acted like I was drowning him during it. He does make me laugh. He hates having his face washed. Is that a gelding thing?! I’ve had several the same.

His mane looks so much better after a spot of Head & Shoulders. It really does the trick.
