Many hands

This phrase always makes me think of my Nanna. She was a firm believer in rolling up your sleeves and getting it done. This evening, I did just that as I made a visit to Gingerbreadland. I haven’t been there for a while. And my god, the smell is still heady!

They’d got a big order so I offered to lend a hand. Well two in fact. 4.5 hours later…

I got to help with the Buddy biscuits. Fear not people, I was packing only! They’re not that trusting of my culinary skills. Even I can mess up packing.

Still makes me smile knowing the visitors at Redwings can buy gingerbread biscuit based on Buddy’s head. So cool.

Loungewear

OK, so I might be preparing for winter. I bought this loungewear set today. No I didn’t really know that loungewear was a thing. I thought they were very fluffy pyjamas. But no, loungewear it is!

I saw them in John Lewis and couldn’t resist. The trousers are so fluffy, I resemble Mr Tumnus from Narnia. Don’t care though, they’re toasty warm! Let’s face it, I’m usually cold. So having warm legs is a novelty.

I haven’t been to John Lewis for ages. But it was a great place to meet a friend for a coffee, mince pie and lots of chat. It’s been a while since we caught up too so there was a lot to cover.

I then spent the rest of the day in a rather chilly unit packing gingerbread. As one does on a Saturday. Another friend had a huge order to fulfil and sent up the gingerbread equivalent of the Bat Signal. Pity I had to wear chef’s whites and not my fluffy loungewear.

Redwings

Buddy is off to Redwings! Well his image is. They got in touch with my friend Helen at Weddell and Turner for some gluten free / dairy free gingerbread. Horse shaped of course.

Helen has met Buddy and thinks he’s particularly handsome. So she asked for a headshot to use. I’m honoured he’s now in biscuit form.

Aren’t they brilliant?!

Is it weird that I can tell they’re him?

Rejects

I love the fact that I get to eat gingerbread rejects while I work. It’s a lovely bonus!

I wonder if gingerbread helps with my creativity?! The fact they taste so good really makes it easy to wax lyrically about the products.

Local Flavours

Today I headed to a trade show at the Norfolk Showground to man a stall with Helen for Weddell and Turner.

My legs are aching, my face is aching and I’ve got a sore throat from talking. But I had a bloody brilliant day!

I’m a huge fan of their gingerbread, cakes and sweet treats. Makes it really easy to sell them to others.
