Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
While my Dad was having a nap, I cracked on with some work. As he was still asleep when I finished, I thought I’d catch up with some online training. I didn’t want to wake him, so borrowed my Mum’s headphones. Or cans as we’ve always called them.
Not sure it my best look. Made me giggle. So did the fact I’d matched the wall in my parents dining room.
One of these horses overcame a fear tonight. He was a proper warrior. Frankie isn’t a fan of dark water. By dark water, I mean the run off from a steaming pile of manure. Tonight he crossed the river of poo juice. Buddy wasn’t phased at all, so he just walked straight over it.
This played to our advantage as Frankie was much more willing to give it a go seeing Buddy standing in the poo juice. My Equilab looked like Buddy was doing the Hokey Cokey going back and forward showing Frankie that it was safe.
Finally Frankie took the plunge and took the step to cross the river. And by river, it was a few feet across. We were all cheering him on! Credit where credit is due, he was really brave to overcome his fear.
Thankfully the rest of our ride was smooth sailing. It was a lovely way to end the week. Think we all needed a giggle tonight.
Well this made me laugh. Apparently I might need Muscle & Focus as well as Buddy! This is his favourite food. I looked quite the sight lugging the bag across the yard. I hope he appreciates my efforts. Think the concentration says it all.
Definitely not a composed performance.
Good job I can laugh at myself. No really, it is!! And I bet you are giggling a little bit too.
After mucking out, I popped up to check Buddy’s leg. He had a moment yesterday during his constitutional when faced with two steam engines. He held it together rather well all things considered. They are really noisy. Lots of rattling and clanking. But he did have a little dance as they passed by.
On my way up the field, I spotted this rather tall tower of poop. It made me giggle as it looked like some sort of modern art. Do you think I could sell it to the Tate Modern?!
This has been making me giggle today. Well last week, it was weirding me out if I’m honest. For some reason, it’s started randomly bubbling. So much so that I joked it was possessed.
I get it bubbles when someone uses it, but when it starts bubbling when no-one’s been near it, it’s a bit odd.
This week, the volume of the bubbling had gone up and up. It’s been making us laugh as it’s not only loud, it goes on for a long time. Definitely overplaying it’s part. It’s been a talking point for sure.
Look at the size of these cucumbers!! A gift from one of the clients this afternoon. She’d grown too many so was giving them away.
She did have us a little concerned to start off with as she started the conversation with ‘I’ve got a cucumber crisis’. None of us were completely sure where she was going to go with that! Made me giggle as she handed them out.
Not every day you get given a cucumber. But I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Today we put the band back together! It’s been a while since we hacked. It was like no time had passed at all. We chatted the whole way round. The boys seemed pleased to see each other too.
Another thing that hasn’t changed is my inability to take a selfie on a horse. This photo made me giggle when I saw how it came out.
Sometimes it’s the little things in life. A catch up with a good friend, a good ride in the beautiful countryside and at good laugh at your own ineptitude.
Now I’m a very intelligent woman (or so I’ve been told), but I’m still baffled by which bin goes out each week. Seems I’m not alone in this as I frequently look out and see a selection of bins out around the close. Today was even more confusing as they were all collected!
Got a letter to say they’re changing the weeks that bins are collected. Clearly the bin men got a bit overwhelmed by it all as I got back to find my bins scattered over the driveway. I nearly drove over the food waste bin.
Made me giggle as I had to do some interesting manoeuvres onto the driveway. Still not sure what bin goes out next week. Will cross that bridge next Sunday…
