Muppet brain

Well it appears my brain isn’t firing on all cylinders. Today I managed to wipe all my WhatsApp messages. And last night I forgot to put Buddy’s rug on after I lunged him. I’ve never done that before.

All was forgiven when I arrived for our saddle fitting. Liz was very impressed with how Buddy is looking. He’s gone down a dress size as he’s leaned out more. And muscled up in the right places. Always lovely to hear that your horse looks good.

Buddy felt great in the adjusted saddle. And was very happy to have parsnips afterwards.

I’m hoping that my brain returns to full working order soon. Not sure if it’s the menopause, relaxing or something else. Whatever it is, I’d like my brain back please.

Forgetful

So there seems to be a bit of a reoccurring theme when I visit my parents. I either forget something. Or need to buy more of something. The latter is usually due to the fact I’m not totally sure how long I’m going to be here. The former can come from the speed with which I need to get here.

This is today’s purchase. Yup, guess who forget the phone charger?! I have a car one, but that means sitting in the car while it charges. Fine yesterday when I took Dad to the hospital. But sadly no trips today as Dad is in for another night.

At least I can charge my phone. And I won’t miss the bright orange charger next time. Or that’s the hope!

Redemption

Well Buddy excelled himself today! And not just in the mud stakes. He happily jumped through a double without hesitation or running out.

We nearly didn’t do anything as I left my saddle and bridle at home. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I took them home to clean after the show on Sunday and totally forgot to pick them up.

Luckily it’s a 3 min drive back to mine from the yard. A quick round trip sorted that one out.

Then I saw the mud. Buddy seemed rather pleased with himself. Don’t blame him. It was a glorious day and wonderful he can go out naked.
