Sports fan

Bert is getting the hang of sports. He was most interested in the rugby and football. He wasn’t so keen on me shouting, cheering and jumping around. He’s with the kittens on that one! They tend to leave the room.

In my defence, there was a lot of that going on!

First we watched England beat France in the rugby. That was a very tense match with England coming from behind. And off the back of a rather awful performance last time out.

Then we watched Brighton beat Chelsea in the FA Cup. Again, they came from behind. And off the back of a 7-0 defeat last match out.

I say we, Bert slept through most of the second half. Seems he’s more of a rugby fan.

There were similarities in both my teams. Today the underdogs won. I love an underdog. So that makes me very happy. Wonder who Brighton will get next…

Irish

I had the honour of jumping Irish today. Oh my goodness, what a dude. I’ve known him a few years and have always wanted to ride him. So when I got the chance, I eagerly agreed.

He’s an ISH like Buddy. But very different. We had a couple of steering issues. Mostly me forgetting that he’s not Buddy, so doesn’t turn on a sixpence.

Boy did it feel good to be jumping again. It’s true what they say that you don’t realise how much you miss something till you do it again.

Buddy and I will be back to it soon enough. In the meantime, I’m so grateful that people trust me with their horses. Thank you Kim, it means so much.

As if that wasn’t enough horsey excitement, this afternoon I headed over to have foal cuddles with Poppy. She’s a proper sassy pants. Absolutely stunning in the flesh. I’d seen photos of her, but they don’t do her justice. She is going to be a star in the show ring.

What a lovely horsey day indeed! I need a lie down after all the excitement. Oh wait, I’m about to watch England.

Three Lions

I’m back home after a full on two days at St George’s Park. It’s been so much fun. I’m one of those special people who loves running around like an idiot making sure everything goes smoothly.

It was a great venue too. You can’t help but feel inspired when you’re surrounded by images of legends and so much memorabilia and trophies.

I left Burton-on-Trent later than I’d planned with another Burton on my mind. Today was the funeral of a friend’s partner, Steve Burton. Steve was a lovely bloke so I wanted to be there to show my respect. And support a family who’ve been a great support to me over the years.

St George’s Park

Greetings from St George’s Park. The training ground for the England Football Team. I’m here running a conference tomorrow. It’s fair to say that they’ve fully embraced the England Team branding. The meeting rooms are named after England Legends. We’re in the Sir Bobby Robson ballroom tomorrow.

Today’s been a long day and tomorrow will be longer, but I bloody love my job.

And chill

Today I’m feeling yesterday’s clinic. There after definitely achey bits. Buddy got today off anyway.

So I watched Wimbledon and the England match. Amazing result for Emma Raducanu getting through to the second week. And England through to the semis.

It seems the kittens aren’t tennis or football fans.
