Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!
What a fab horsey day out at Houghton Hall. Feeling very inspired watching the action. Also feeling a tad tired after walking 6.5 miles round the course. Though I was ‘sausage dog’ assisted as I was towed round for a lot of it. Well when he wasn’t humping my leg. 🤦🏻♀️ What can I say, it’s my animal magnetism…?!
I have been well and truly puppied today. I love dogs, but it’s not felt right to have another one. Grateful that I can spend time with other people’s dogs.
Ever since I watched the film Greyfriar’s Bobby (and sobbed my heart out at the end), I’ve wanted to see this statue. Tonight I did. And he was worth the wait. I touched his nose, asked for good luck and made a wish.
I am loving Edinburgh and I’ve not really seen much of it. I think I am going to have to come back.
Headed to Burnham Market Horse Trials today to meet my friends Nigel, Julie and their dog Jeff. It’s been a while since I’ve been there. Forgotten how undulating it is there. Jeff was in training for Badders next year. He aced it! He wasn’t bothered by the horses at all. Clever boy Jeff.
It was great catching up with people too. It was inspiring watching the action. One day Buddy and I will be competing there too. 👏🏻
Fab day out at Houghton Hall today for the unaffiliated Eventing. It couldn’t have been a more glorious day. It was great to catch up with lots of people. As well as watching the Eventing of course.
Definitely felt inspired. One day we might make it there to compete ourselves. It’s a stunning location and the XC course looked like a lot of fun.
Oh and I may have bought myself a new gillet. Well it was my birthday yesterday. And a girl simply can’t have enough, right?!
I nearly caused a bit of an issue though. Stopped to pet one of the jump judge’s dog. Somehow it got caught under a table, lost the plot, slipped its lead and ran off. Thankfully we caught it and I was able to return it unharmed.
