Toasty

Blimey, it has been unseasonably warm today! Luckily, I got to spend the morning in a nice cool office. It was quite the topic of conversation at the Chiro’s.

Bert and I didn’t need any pursuading to get out for a walk when I was done that’s for sure.

It was utterly blissful. Not a soul in sight. I love moments like that…

Pow wow

All seems right in the world when I’m behind these ears. That’s for sure. It also helps to have great company, interesting conversations and sunshine!!

It’s been a bit of an odd week all told. Not my best. But far from my worst. I saw a display of Mother’s Day cards in the shop. It suddenly hit me that I will never have to buy another Mother’s Day card. Such an odd feeling…

Grief really is a strange process. So unpacking things slowly and kindly. The sunshine definitely helps…

Orangery

A new venue for me today. The Orangery Tea Room at Ketteringham Hall. Wow! Talk about stunning. I was so born in the wrong era?! I could imagine myself walking along the lake in some oversized dress. Very lady of the Manor. Oh who am I kidding?! I’d be on a horse somewhere probably breaking some rule or other. I definitely wouldn’t be below stairs. We know how good I am at cooking and cleaning. I’d be fired in a week!

I must admit, I was slightly nervous of going to an Orangery. The last thing I really wanted to do was eat in an oversized conservatory in the heat. Needn’t have worried, we were outside.

Lovely food, lovely company and very lovely setting.

I did end up in an oversized conservatory as I had time to kill between appointments. So I ended up popping onto the Rose Nursery. The smell was heady. Might have bought a new rose. Well it was called Agatha Christie. There’ll be no mystery where she ends up in my garden…

Bluebells

The bluebells are out at Blickling so it had to be done. A gorgeous Spring day too. And the first ride round without a coat.

It was rather busy in the car park, but we had lots of the park onto ourselves. It’s so special.

When we did meet people, there were two topics of conversation – how handsome our horses were and how beautiful the bluebells were. The sun shining really does improve people’s moods.

Rainbow hues

Spotted a double rainbow as I walked out of Buddy’s stable today. I’m a big fan of a rainbow. They make me feel hopeful about things. You can’t have a rainbow without rain and sun. We need that light and shade in life too.

I’ve been in a philosophical mood today. I had some really good conversations. I’m a big fan of a good conversation too.

There’s so much doom and gloom in the world at the moment. It’s easy to get sucked into the negatives. But there is so much beauty all around us.

Get mooooving

I needed to clear my head today so I went to have a chat with the cows. They’re not great conversationalist, but good listeners. I then went to see Cyril. He’s looking resplendent in his Autumn colours.

I bumped into one of my neighbours who referred to me as ‘the train girl’. Well I did stop the horns so I guess that’s quite apt. It’s almost a year of silence now. It’s utterly blissful I can tell you.

She opened up and told me some things that were on her mind. As we parted, she thanked me for listening. She hasn’t realised how much it had been bothering her. People seem to feel comfortable talking to me about stuff. Good job it’s part of what I do. Seems I am a good listener too.
