Assembly

It’s been way too long since I caught up with this beauty. She’s one of my ‘wise women’. I love chatting to her. We met at the Assembly House for lunch. Both of us having major flashbacks to events there. We both worked at Aviva, but didn’t know each other then. We mixed in the same circles, but it was only after we both left, we met through horses.

We have so much in common. We’re both Sussex girls and used to work for London & Edinburgh in Worthing many moons ago. Funny how life goes like that. You have chances to meet and don’t. But then when the stars align, it’s magical.

Even though we have caught up for ages, it was like no time had passed at all. I love it when that happens. Thank you Anna, you were definitely good for my soul today.

Cheese plant

I bought a plant today! And it’s made me so happy already. It’s one of my more random purchases, so bear with…

This morning I met up for coffee with a lady I connected with in 2020. We were part of an online networking group. Today was the first time we met in person! Boy was it worth the wait. We talked for 3.5 hours about life, covid, business and so much more. It was just wonderful.

We met at a cafe / plant shop. A rather glorious mix. As we chatted, I spotted this cheese plant. It took me back to my childhood. We had a monster of one in our hallway for many years. It then outgrew our house and was gifted to the office I worked in. It eventually ended up with one of the employees. I guess it was adopted by her.

I had to buy it. It’s a homage to my 70s childhood and my parents. It made me laugh all the way home as I drove along with it sitting proudly on my passenger seat. I’ve named him ‘Wallace’. He’s settling in well.

Horsey family

Spent a rather pleasant evening at Carleton Riding Club’s social night.

I’ve met so many people through horses. Some have become my horsey family. It’s lovely to spend time with likeminded people. And we don’t just talk horses…

Horses are the commonality that brings us together. The friendships are built from there. I have people in my life that I’d have never met if it wasn’t for horses.

My life would be very different without them, that’s for sure. In fact I was very miserable without a horse. Very thankful to have Buddy and the horsey people I have around me.

Connections

Today I headed to Brome to meet up with a new connection. We’re both doing the same course and connected via weekly zoom meeting. It was brilliant to meet in the flesh.

We were both a little bit excited about meeting. I love connecting with new people. I’ve made so many brilliant friends over the years this way.
