Porphyrophile

Purple has always been a favourite colour of mine. I never knew there was a word for it. That’s kinda cool.

As a child, I had a lot of purple stuff. Including a tomahawk bike that my Dad spray painted purple for me.

As an adult, purple has been a constant colour in my life. There have been rather a large number of bruised body parts in that colour too sadly.

In fact I’m wearing a purple top as I write this. Thankfully no bruises to go with it.

I find it fascinating how we’re drawn to certain colours. And don’t like others. Just goes to show how different we are (and the same too).

Stamps

I had to buy some stamps today. I needed to post a birthday card to a friend. It’s his birthday tomorrow. Yes he was born on 29 February. So actually gets to celebrate tomorrow.

Anyway, I went in and asked for a 6 pack of First Class stamps. The girl looked a bit confused and said they only come in packs of 4 or 8 now. Shows how long it’s been since I bought a pack of stamps.

The price has gone up considerably as well. £5 for four stamps. That was a bit of a shock. Guess that’s cause they are now bigger with a barcode. That must cost more to produce.

Still they’re a very pretty colour. Very regal.

Leap of faith

This made me smile tonight. I went to the Full Moon Soundbath and the lady who runs it had put a card on each of the mats along with a coloured scarf.

I picked a mat, but didn’t like the pink scarf that was there. So I swapped it with the orange scarf and card on another mat. This was the card I picked instead. Talk about apt after the weekend. That was a leap of faith on so many levels.

We ended up with one spare mat. The one that I’d put the pink scarf and card on. So I ended up with that too. Obviously meant to be.
