Daffodils

I spotted these lovely daffodils this morning. Daffodils always make me smile. They are such cheery flowers.

Spring is definitely here. It’s my favourite season. I may have mentioned that. The one thing I don’t like about Spring though is the multiple outfits required. I took Bert out for a walk first thing in a down jacket and gloves. Brrrr.

Come afternoon and I arrived at the yard with overtrousers, fleece and jacket. The sun came out and the layers came off. I popped Buddy over a few jumps and was too hot in just a base layer.

Then once the sun had set, it was back to fluffy socks and many layers. Good job I have lots and lots of layers.

Wordsworth

I love it when the daffodils appear at the yard. They seem to pop up overnight. It may have been cold today but Spring is definitely in the air.

I love Daffodils. They’re such cheery flowers. They also remind me of Wordsworth. I studied his poem when I did my A-levels:

‘I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.’

I was going to call my dog Wordsworth but I ended up with a Shelley instead. Well one poet for another.

Rainbow’s end

After another day of random rainfall, spotted this beautiful rainbow at the yard. It reminded me of a wonderful quote from Maya Angelou ‘Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud’.

While doing my meal deliveries, I was complemented on how cheery and smiley I am. How lovely is that?! 😊
