Around the sun

Tomorrow I turn 53. I’ve packed a lot into the latest spin around the sun. I’ve done things I never thought I would. I’ve created a successful business. I’ve made more memories. There have been disappointments and drama too.

I’ve tried to live my life to the fullest. To be a kind, caring and loving person. To help others where I can. To make a life that I’m proud of. And be a person to be proud of too!

I think I’ve done that. And will continue to do so. One thing’s for sure, I’m nowhere near done!

I spotted this beautiful iris today. It made me smile. As did the people I saw today. Thank you for helping me start my birthday celebrations.

Here’s to another year…

Birthday nibbles

It’s Buddy’s birthday. He’s a teenager now at the ripe old age of 13! Let’s hope we get more maturity and he doesn’t embrace his inner ‘Kevin’.

I got him a massage for his birthday. Auntie Sam came to see him. I also got him some birthday nibbles. He was very appreciative of the nibbles and his massage. Well apart from his rather tight hamstrings.

Given the amount of work and travelling he’s done recently, I’m hardly surprised. I was expecting more tight spots. I’m pretty sure I have a few more than he does.

Constant companion

Flying visit to Suffolk to see a friend on his birthday. It was lovely to see everyone. Bailey was very happy to see his Auntie Pip. He’s my constant companion when I’m there.

In fact, he nearly came home with me as he got in the Comedy Car when I was going to leave. Guess it must be my animal magnetism…

Rose to the occasion

Took my friend Colette over to Peter Beales Roses for her birthday outing. We had a lovely lunch, then wandered round the garden and garden centre.

It was a bit chilly, but we managed to avoid the showers. Lots of the roses may have gone over, but there was still a lot to see.

As a child, I was brought up with birthday outings. I’m so glad that I can continue this tradition with my friends too.

Southern Comfort

What a wonderful way to end the day. Cruising down the Norfolk Broads on the Mississippi River Boat. And celebrating my friend’s 30th birthday.

We ate, we drank, we danced and we sang. Fabulous evening. So lovely catching up with so many people.

Adaptation

Headed out with my friend Colette today for my 4th birthday outing. We were heading to East Ruston Gardens till we realised it was closed. Quick scramble to come up with a new plan and we headed off to Sheringham Park to see the rhododendrons.

Boy they did not disappoint!! The colours were so vibrant. Another place ticked off my Norfolk bucket list.

Owl-tastic

So this was my birthday outing today. My friend Helen took me to see the owls and other birds of prey. I was rather giddy as I’m a big fan. I love watching them and am lucky to see a lot around my house.

They’re so majestic. We saw a flying display while we were there. It’s amazing how nimble they are. Some got really close as they dived down. Just incredible.

Then we met up with more friends for dinner. We ate, we laughed, we were the last ones in the restaurant.

Now home with a big smile on my face. Thank you everyone who’s made my birthday so special.

Me

Tomorrow I turn 52. I’m honestly not sure where the years have gone. One things for sure, I’m nowhere near done!

I’ve packed a lot into each spin around the sun. I’ve tried to live my life to the fullest. To be a kind, caring and loving person. To help others where I can. To make a life that I’m proud of. And be a person to be proud of too!

I’ve had many highs and lows, ups and downs, adventures and disasters. I’ve got many scars. I’ve got more memories. I’ve done things I didn’t think I could.

Tomorrow I will celebrate my birthday. I will raise a glass to celebrate me. And I hope you will raise one to me too.

Smell the roses

I had my first birthday outing today. My friend Anni took me for lunch at Peter Beales Roses. Not sure either of us thought we’d be there over 3 hours wandering round the gardens and smelling the roses. My goodness, there were some heavenly smelling ones.

The time flew by and we could have stayed for longer. Came away with my birthday present too – 2 beautiful clematis.
