Double decker

Bert had his second jab today. He was a little confused about being back at the vets with no activities after last night’s Puppy Pre-School. He was very happy when he got to choose a new toy afterwards though. In fact, he got 3 new toys and an antler to chew. It appears I am that dog-owner.

His second jab knocked him for six so he’s spent a lot of today asleep. I took advantage of the calm to get lots done.

Dodo took advantage of the top deck! I’d put the radiator bed up there as I couldn’t open the crate door. There was lots of purring and snoring going on.

Of course, Bert was fully refreshed this evening, tearing round the living room. He loves his antler and has been chomping away on it. Now he’s had his vaccinations, he’ll soon be able to explore more and have some puppy play dates. Exciting times ahead!

Camper fans

On my way back from my Dad’s, I stopped at Elveden to catch up with some of my camp friends for lunch. Going to camps with Buddy have been some of my favourite times over the years. They’re time away from the chaos of my life. Time with like-minded people, great instructors and of course my best camp Buddy.

I love this photo of us. It’s one of those natural ones where I had no idea I was being snapped. It sums up camp to me. Lots of smiles, laughs and love.

I’ve made so many friends at camp. I love catching up with them. After a few very emotional days, it was just what I needed. Lots of hugs, love, good food and even better company…

Boost

Well it’s taken me till the age of 53 (and a half) to be the proud owner of a pair of jump leads.

The Buddymobile needs a little boost when it’s been sat for a while. Or it cold. I mean, who doesn’t?! I’ve been borrowing some when needed, but yesterday when I was driving back from the woods, I decided to go and get some of my own.

I have a phrase when I’m grooming for someone – ‘Better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them’. This is the same.

Typically I needed them today. The Buddymobile hasn’t been out for a while. What with parent drama, flu and no saddle, it’s only had one outing this year. Thought I’d take it out for a spin. It felt good to be back behind the wheel.

Next time I’m going to take Buddy with me…. Time for some more horsey adventures.
