This little face makes my heart beat a little faster.

Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!

Making the most of a lazy Sunday. I’ve done a few jobs in the garden and ticked off a few things on my lockdown list today. It’s such a glorious day I thought I’d practice ‘being’ so sat in the garden reading a book written by my talented friend Samantha Mattocks.

So after 19 weeks and 4 days, this happened today. The awesome foursome got back together! First hack out in company of 2020! Buddy has his wingman again. Was with the wait…..

I was sent this feather boa to brighten up the networking call I had today via Zoom. It certainly did the trick. It was an explosion of yellow feathers on my screen.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you Kittentopia!! The crate I bought was too small for my little monkeys so they’ve been upgraded. My friend lent me a bigger crate. It works a treat! They’re having so much fun climbing and making nest for themselves. It means they can have the litter tray overnight too so no more accidents.
Nero has now decided that after years of being banished from the bedroom for annoying behaviour, he’s happy to sleep on the bed without keeping me up half the night. Not sure I can cope with 3 on the bed so will have to see if he gets banished again once the kittens are bigger. For now, they’re all happy kitties.

I thought I’d lost the kittens till I found them snuggled up here. 😻😻

Today my new air fryer arrived. I’ve wanted one for ages, but never got round to getting one. There’s something decedent about deep fried food, but I wanted a healthy option. I won an Amazon voucher in an online competition so thought I’d treat myself (that and I accidentally bought a rather large bag of deep fry only chips). Unfortunately there’s no instruction book so I’m a little hesitant to try. Let’s face it, I’m not exactly known for my culinary prowess. Any tips?!

Good news for a Wednesday! I’ve been to the hospital today for the 4 month check up on my ankle. They’re downright impressed with the progress I’ve made! I’ve been given the green light to crack on so to speak. They’re still concerned about future complications, so I have to go back in another 4 months and they’ll monitor it for another year.
Seems my ability to heal quickly is standing me in good stead again!
I found this photo on my phone, it’s from the day of my accident back on 2 January. It shows how brave Buddy was when he faced the pony & trap that started our now infamous hack. Sadly he wasn’t as brave with the plastic bag!

I saw this quote and it resonated. It’s frustrating at the moment. Some people want to get going, some people don’t, some people are still scared, some people are more hopeful. We’re all different, view things in different ways and react in different ways. So try to be quick to love, slow to judge and always kind.
