Friends

I saw this earlier and it really struck a cord with me. Lockdown on my own can be really tough done days. I miss people. I miss hugs. So I’m very grateful to have so many wonderful friends in my life. Friends I’ve known for decades, friends I’ve known for weeks, friends who live all over the world and friends I’ve not actually met yet.

A big thank you to everyone one who’s checked in on me. And an even bigger thank you for being a part of my life – big or small.

Lucinda

I’ve been doing a challenge that Lucinda Green has been running. It’s really fun. She’s been doing live Q&A sessions and there was one tonight. She’s a wealth of information. Learnt a lot from the session.

Her top tip for rider fitness? Hover rather than sit on the loo. I’ve experienced so distinctly dodgy toilets at horse venues (and a lack of heating), wonder if that’s where she discovered it.

Growing up she was my riding heroine and meeting her at the Rolex is still up there in my memories. You might be able to spot that from the size of my smile.

Blustery Day

Storm Christopher was still howling today. Thankfully the sun was out too so I managed to get some laundry on the line. A first for 2021. There’s something very satisfying about laundry on the line.

Took Buddy out for a longer hack today. I’m still taking it slowly but I do feel like my energy levels are definitely improving.

Camo kitten

I couldn’t find Dodo today so thought he must have gone out. Given how windy it was, I was a bit surprised. Then I spotted him curled up on his fishing the carpet. I must have walked past him. 🤦🏻‍♀️

In my defence, I was a bit crosseyed after a day of study.

Always learning

Started reading this book today. Finding it fascinating already. Hoping it’ll not only help Buddy and me, but also any riders I work with in the future.

Starting a week long challenge with Lucinda Green tonight as well. I can’t wait to get back out jumping and go cross country again. I’ve missed it.

Blue Monday

It’s apparently Blue Monday today. How can I be blue when I have this gorgeous boy in my life?! He gave me lots of kisses and cuddles today. Had another hack round the block. I’m trying to build up slowly after rushing my recovery.

Had a magical mystery tour this afternoon too doing my meal deliveries. There was a new person and he accidentally took my meals. So I ended up delivering round Thorpe and Sprowston. Thank god for sat nav that’s all I’m saying! I hadn’t got a clue where I was going and in the dark it’s really hard to see the house numbers. Got there in the end and saw a lot of new faces.

Winter sun

What a difference a day makes! After the snow yesterday, today we saw the sun.

And today also saw the return of normalish energy levels for me. Hoping I’ve turned a corner in my recovery. Won’t be going mad as I don’t want to put myself back again. But feeling more and more like me again.

Snow day

Well I wasn’t expecting that! Yes it was forecasted, but they don’t always get it right.

The cats didn’t want to go out. And I was with them. To be honest, I wasn’t sure my little car would make it out of the close. And it definitely wouldn’t get back up again. It’s times like this I miss having a 4×4.

So I watched Frozen and Frozen 2. Well it seemed appropriate. 😂
