Back to school

Buddy and I had our first dressage lesson of 2021. And a new venue to boot. The Buddymobile was back in action as we headed over to Emily’s

Pleased to say that the work we’ve been doing during lockdown has paid off as we’d made progress since our last lesson with Emily.

Couple of feral moments, so good to work through. Mostly due to a white peacock. Buddy wasn’t totally sure what to make of him. I thought he was pretty stunning.

Hot stuff

Though I’d try these. I’m a sucker for a new product. Yes I’m a Marketing Man’s dream. And as a Marketeer, I know exactly what’s going on. Still fall for it.

These really should have come with some sort of health warning though. Honestly, after 2 or 3, I couldn’t feel my mouth anymore. My lips were tingling and my tongue felt too big for my mouth.

Didn’t stop me eating half the tube though. 😝

Hail Dodo

This is the face of a cat who’s been woken up by the hail on the conservatory roof. I was listening to some online training, had to stop it as I couldn’t hear it over the noise. All 3 cats weren’t impressed!

It’s been one of those days where we’ve had 4 seasons in one day. From glorious sunshine to sleet, with rain and hail mixed in for good measure.

My garden day turned into a house day instead. Ticked lots off the list, so can’t complain. Happy Sunday everyone.

Hugo Boss

Awwww look who came upon my FB memories today. A teeny tiny Hugo Boss. This was the photo that made me adopt him after losing Tom.

He and Dodo have grown into handsome little boys. I can’t imagine life without them.

History made

Today Rachael Blackmore made sporting history by becoming the first female jockey to win the Grand National with victory on Minella Times at Aintree.

She deserves all the plaudits today. As does the horse and everyone involved with him.

One of the things that makes equestrianism so special is that gender doesn’t play a factor. Men and women compete on an equal footing. It doesn’t matter about the gender of the horse either. Mares, stallions and geldings all compete each other. It’s about you and your horse on the day.

Wonder why racing has taken so long to catch up.

RIP Philip

Sad news that the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away today. My thoughts are with The Queen and his family.

I met him once. Well I say I met him. I embarrassed myself in front of him. My parents took me to The Royal Tournament at Earls Court. The Prince walked past where we were sitting. And I piped up ‘Oh look, there’s Princess Philip’. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It seems I’ve always had a way with words…. Not sure if he heard, but he did smiled.

Plane spotting

We had a rather low flying plane go over the yard today. The kinda low where you can almost see the colour of the pilot’s eyes!

It was really loud. None of the horses were bothered at all. The same wasn’t true for the riders as we rushed to see it.

Apparently it’s an A400M, which is the RAF’s latest transport. Whatever it was, it was very cool.
