Connections

Today I headed to Brome to meet up with a new connection. We’re both doing the same course and connected via weekly zoom meeting. It was brilliant to meet in the flesh.

We were both a little bit excited about meeting. I love connecting with new people. I’ve made so many brilliant friends over the years this way.

Kitty karma

Well it escalated quickly. We went from a dead mouse to a live one! 😱

I saved said mouse so that’s my good deed for the day. Not sure which kitty brought it in. It had taken up refuge under my filing cabinet of all places.

Lord only knows how long it had been there. I found it last night after wondering why Dodo was camped out in front of the cabinet. Tried to catch it, but it was having none of it.

Couldn’t see it under there this morning, so guessed it might have had an untimely end.

Until I was sat at my desk and saw it ran out in to the conservatory. Managed to close the door, extract all the cats and trap in a jug and take it outside to release it away from the said cats.

Good job I’m not bothered by rodents. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Foot hug

Last year, my slippers finally died. I was gutted as they were so comfy. I’ve been wearing winter slipper boots since then, but knew I needed to get some new one. Slightly challenging in Covid land as you can’t try thing on.

Today I found these wonders. Not only do they look funky. They are super comfy. My feet are being hugged right now!

It really is the simple things in life…

Peopled

Today I got to be utterly peopled. Headed over to the Asparagus Festival (nope, I didn’t know there was one of them either) to help man my friend’s stall.

You have no idea how good it felt to talk to real people all day. My legs ache, my back aches and my face aches. Totally worth it. And wonderful to see so many people appreciating the yummy treats that were on offer.

If you want gluten-free / dairy-free treats, check out Weddell and Turner.

Grow your own

Today saw the return of exciting times in the greenhouse (not a euphemism). As I started the day in the potting shed.

Potted on the cucumbers and planted out 6 hanging baskets of tomato plants. Didn’t have much time, but it’s a start.

Need to clear out the beds to plant out the courgettes, squashes and pumpkins I’ve been given. Lots more tomatoes and lettuces to be sorted out too. Anyone want some yellow chard? It’s gone a bit wild!

I do love growing my own. One things for sure, I won’t starve this year.

Gratitude

I’ve had one of those days where I’m grateful for my lot. Headed to Salhouse Broad for an early morning walk. The bluebells looked stunning.

I love this time of the year. Things are green and popping with colour.

Tiger, tiger

Today has been a lovely day. My first trip to Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens. The tigers were definitely my favourite. They’re so beautiful, majestic and serene. Oh and deadly.

Seems I’m a fan of big cats as well as little cats.
