Business show

Today I headed off to London to visit a business trade show.

It was fun wandering round the stands, chatting to people about what they do. Even better chatting with Katie over a rather extended lunch.

We did our best to grab as many freebies as possible. I ended up with 4 reusable bags, lots of pens, a teddy, an armadillo and a rose! Who doesn’t love a freebie!?!

Barber boy

It was Buddy’s second clip today. And by far the best to date. He was so much more relaxed than he has been.

He seemed more interested in his haynet than the clippers. He got a bit towel off afterwards so was positively shining!

I love him when he’s freshly clipped. His fur feels so soft. Let’s see how long he stays clean for…

Rejects

I love the fact that I get to eat gingerbread rejects while I work. It’s a lovely bonus!

I wonder if gingerbread helps with my creativity?! The fact they taste so good really makes it easy to wax lyrically about the products.

Golden rays

Another thing I love about Autumn is the golden rays as the sun sets (even if I don’t like the fact this was at 15:39). It brings such a wonderful warm feeling to everywhere. Even if it was rather fresh today. Definitely time to break out the thicker jodhpurs soon…

Sweatiest

Well it’s been a while since Buddy was sweatier after a lesson than me! First trip for Buddy over to Neric Equestrian for a jumping lesson with Lewis.

Bit of a dodgy start after Buddy took exception to the ponies behind the trees. Once we’d worked through that (and burnt off the excess energy someone had), we worked really nicely and jumped everything asked.

Jumping really is my favourite thing to do.

Good job Buddy’s next clip is booked in. It’s still so mild. It’s November, right?!

MOT time

Yes it’s that time of the year again, MOT time! I spent the morning waiting for news like an expectant father. Sadly, it’s bad news. Another year, another failure. New headlight and something to do with my rear brakes.

The headlight’s been on the list to sort for ages so annoyed with myself for that. As for brakes, I had the fronts sorted earlier in the year so guess it was time for the backs to go. They’d seized or something. Good job I haven’t been driving long-distances… oh wait.

Times like this when I’m grateful for my little lorry. My car won’t be back till Monday so looks like I’m trucking this weekend.

Get mooooving

I needed to clear my head today so I went to have a chat with the cows. They’re not great conversationalist, but good listeners. I then went to see Cyril. He’s looking resplendent in his Autumn colours.

I bumped into one of my neighbours who referred to me as ‘the train girl’. Well I did stop the horns so I guess that’s quite apt. It’s almost a year of silence now. It’s utterly blissful I can tell you.

She opened up and told me some things that were on her mind. As we parted, she thanked me for listening. She hasn’t realised how much it had been bothering her. People seem to feel comfortable talking to me about stuff. Good job it’s part of what I do. Seems I am a good listener too.
