It’s been a very long time since I got to go to Carrow Road on Boxing Day. Not the result I’d hoped for. Let’s gloss over that one!
I seem to be a bit of a jinx for Norwich. Maybe one day I will see them win again…

Welcome to blog! I started it in 2020 to chart my recovery from breaking my ankle (hence the name). I guess no-one saw a global pandemic coming. It's turned into a place where I can talk about the things happening in my life, my horse and my cats. Enjoy!

I thought I’d try and get a decent picture with Buddy this morning. He had other ideas. Choosing to take my hat off and playing with it. This was the best I could do.
I hope you’ve all had a lovely day. I have. Mucked out first thing. Ate too many cheese straws. Worn my Christmas PJs most of the day. Had my non-traditional Christmas lunch. Watched movies and just flopped.
It might not be traditional or to everyone’s taste but it’s my kinda Christmas. And I’ve had a good one.

Today Buddy and I got to do something rather special. We made two girls very happy indeed. In fact the words ‘best Christmas Eve ever’ might have been said a few times.
Buddy was so gentle with them. And walked round the indoor arena looking after them while they both had pony rides.
Just when I think I can’t love him more…

Buddy must be missing Summer as much as I am. He really does make me laugh sometimes.
He obviously prefers alfresco dining.

I was in full planning mode this morning when I heard lots of noise coming from the lounge. Seems the kittens were enjoying the latest episode of ‘Birdwatch Brundall’. Today it was brave pigeon eating berries next to the window. Hugo and Dodo were utterly transfixed.

Well that’s donation 57 done! Another good deed for the year. I’d like to think that my karma rating is pretty high now.
This year may have been challenging, but I have tried to be kind. To give back. And so what I can to help others. It really does make you feel good.
Hopefully my donation will help someone in need. It really doesn’t hurt, you don’t have to see the needle and you get food as a reward. Winner!

I’ve found the best way to distract the kittens from helping with the Christmas wrapping. Get them a box of course! They were so busy jumping in and out of it, playing in it and fighting over it, that they weren’t interested in the wrapping paper.
So this year I only have no excuses for my bad wrapping. 😹

Today I did something that I rarely do. And something I haven’t done for ages. I had a duvet day! The kittens and I barely left the sofa and I’m still in my PJs.
Watched the Strictly final from last night (and was in floods by the end). It’s been a brilliant series. Gutted for AJ. Thrilled for Rose. But would have been happy with John winning too.
Then it’s been full on Equestrian. Watched the coverage from The London Horse Show. First last night’s coverage and then the World Cup. Very inspired to get back out jumping again.
Today has been a good day! Sometimes you need to stop. After all, even birds have to rest.

I had my first portion of Christmas pud tonight. Couldn’t find the brandy so used vodka instead. I’m a big fan of vodka so I wholeheartedly approved. It was well and truly dowsed after 3 burnings. 🔥 I do love Christmas pudding!

Last night was the yard meal, today was the Chiro’s lunch, this evening I’m officially stuffed. And may not need to eat for a while…
Christmas festivities have started in earnest! And so far, I haven’t had any turkey.
Got to wear my Christmas dress for lunch today. 👏🏻
