Crumpled

Today hasn’t been my best day. I’m over-tired, over-emotional and quite frankly all over the place. Things from my past that I thought were resolved have reared their heads and slapped me round the face. So I’m taking the time I need to look at them again.

It’s OK. It happens. I’m OK. Well not completely, but I will be. I’m tired from spinning so many plates. I’m not complaining. It’s a good place to be. But it takes a toll sometimes. There’s a lot of responsibility on my little shoulders.

I feel rather crumpled at the moment. Life has been quite serious lately. I want to get the joy back. It’s hard when I feel like I’m being pulled in lots of directions.

So doing my best and trusting the process. Again.

All the two’s

Today is a special day. It’s 22-2-22. How cool is that?! I love a palindrome.

It’s also the day my camellia burst it’s first bloom. This always makes me smile. It’s so pretty and reminds me that while things may be pants weather-wise, better things are ok the way.

As Charlie Chaplin said ‘nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles’.

Storm off

Right, this is getting ridiculous. How many frigging storms does one week needs?! Four is a bit much in anyone’s book (and apparently it’s now in the history books too).

It’s at time like this, I’m very grateful that we have an indoor school at the yard. But if I’m honest, I’m fed up with getting soaked, nearly blown off and frozen through.

And apparently we have more storms to come. 🤦🏻‍♀️

At least I can guarantee that Buddy will make me smile.

Curling

Another miserable day today. Took the lorry out to pick up a wardrobe for a friend this morning. That was a bit hairy at times. So decided to hunker down for the rest of the day and catch up on the curling finals.

Blimey, what incredible matches. It seems harsh to say I’m disappointed for the men. They still got silver in the Olympics. But so close to a gold. As for the ladies, what a match!

Curling is one of those weirdly addictive sports. I can’t say I totally understand it. But the kittens and I enjoyed it. Well I’m sure they would have had they not been snoring. At least it drowned out the sound of the rain and wind.

Roll on Summer and complaining about being too hot and biting things. We Brits love the weather!

Jump high

Took Buddy for a jumping clinic over at WHW. It was with a new instructor, Simon Grieve. I get nervous with new instructors. I’ve learnt that if I tell the instructor, it helps me. I needn’t have worried. He put me at ease and couldn’t have been more supportive.

Lots of different lines and jumps today. Buddy was a superstar. Bit forward at times, but once we agreed on the appropriate pace, he flew everything.

So proud of my little boy. When it’s good, it’s really, really good.

Storm Eunice

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent most of the day watching the weather change. It’s been howling most of it. In between sunshine, rain, hail and black skies.

My little house has been creaking. The conservatory sounded like it was going to take off at one point. Thankfully it’s all still standing so far.

After Storm Dudley yesterday, Storm Eunice was much fiercer. They sound like an old couple who’ve had a tiff! Dudley gave his best, but my god Eunice has had the last word!

Hope you’re all safe.

Storm Dudley

It was rather breezy out on our hack today. There were a number of moments when it felt like we just stopped.

I’m kinda glad I did some desensitising with Buddy as there was a lot of flapping going on today. And that was just us! My coat and Buddy’s bum cover were in full flap-mode.

If there were any cobwebs left after my walk this morning, they’d definitely gone by the time I got back. 💨😝

Paw Patrol

You’ve heard of Paw Patrol, well Hugo was on Storm Patrol. He was so funny sitting in the wind, then tearing around the garden chasing the leaves. He didn’t want to come back in.

Dodo on the other hand refused to leave the conservatory.

Stay safe everyone. Looks like we’re in for some really stormy weather.
