Ankle update

Good news for a Wednesday! I’ve been to the hospital today for the 4 month check up on my ankle. They’re downright impressed with the progress I’ve made! I’ve been given the green light to crack on so to speak. They’re still concerned about future complications, so I have to go back in another 4 months and they’ll monitor it for another year.

Seems my ability to heal quickly is standing me in good stead again!

I found this photo on my phone, it’s from the day of my accident back on 2 January. It shows how brave Buddy was when he faced the pony & trap that started our now infamous hack. Sadly he wasn’t as brave with the plastic bag!

Be patient

I saw this quote and it resonated. It’s frustrating at the moment. Some people want to get going, some people don’t, some people are still scared, some people are more hopeful. We’re all different, view things in different ways and react in different ways. So try to be quick to love, slow to judge and always kind.

Good times

Having a trip down memory lane today as I broke out my Ducks shirt. I bought this shirt way too many years ago on a trip to see one of my oldest friends in Oregon. I absolutely love it. It reminds me of nights out (that I’ll admit are a bit hazy), going to new places and spending time her. Love our crazy times together! We still have a laugh and a cry together – even though she lives on the other side of the world.

Planning pays off

I’m cold. So it’s a chicken casserole & dumplings, peas and leeks kinda day! I made it last year in my slow cooker and froze it. Blooming glad I did now. Still can’t believe that yesterday I was in shorts and today I’ve had to break out the blanket again! What a year?!?!

My family

Love my little unconventional family. Just need Buddy to complete the picture. Happy Sunday everyone. It is Sunday?! Yesterday felt like a Sunday in July. Today I’m not sure what day it is, what month it is or what season!! I can feel a house day coming on… well once I’m released by the kittens.

Blue jobs

So today I got the drill out and put the trellis up. I’m quite pleased with it that a) it’s pretty straight, b) I did it on my own and c) I didn’t injure myself. It’s not as easy as it looks as really should be a 2 man job. So does that mean 1 woman is better than 2 men?!

Just keep walking

I needed to clear my head today. Normally I’d go for a long hack but today I went for a long walk – 6.4km in fact! I headed down to Buckenham Marshes. I was drawn to the water today. It was bliss. Just me and the odd bird. Even the rain didn’t spoilt how beautiful it is there. I could have sat there for hours, just listening to music and enjoying the view.

Observe

I’m feeling overwhelmed today so following the advice of a wise lady in my life. I’m observing what’s around me. Found this stone on my driveway. It’s so pretty and helping to ground me again.
