Hot water bottle

Well it’s been a pretty grim day weather-wise. But I’m lucky to have a Dodo-shaped hot water bottle. He was very happy to keep me warm while I caught up on some admin.

Nero was asleep at my feet. Hugo, however, wasn’t to be parted from my dressage saddle (which is now back in vogue).

Happy Blog Anniversary

I’ve just noticed that I’ve been writing this blog for a year now. I missed the actual anniversary but there you go. I started the blog to chart my progress back to the saddle after breaking my ankle. I didn’t factor on a global pandemic though. Well who would, right?!

There have been a lot of twists and turns in the past year. Highs and lows. Laughs and tears. I think I’ve cried more in the last year than I have in any other. 2020 was challenging in so many ways for me.

This blog has given me an outlet for my musings and feelings. I hope you’re enjoying it so far. None of us know what the future holds, so for now I’m just trying to do my best.

Thanks for taking the time to read my posts.

Ratatouille

After my culinary success yesterday making ratatouille, today I watched the movie. It’s so much fun.

Love this quote. It seems quite apt right now. More twists and turns.

Today I also had a chat with a journalist about my Covid experience. And got sent a some very useful information about recovering from it too.

Nutrition needs

I’ve been struggling with my lack of appetite so trying to find things that I want to eat. Tonight I made a sort of ratatouille. And bloody yummy it was too.

I also got a cake delivery today. So I’m doing my best to get my calories in.

Felt better after my rest day yesterday. Took Buddy out for a hack round the block. I’m learning that I have to take it easy right now. Wish me luck?!

More rest needed

Think I overdid it this weekend. Woke up feeling a bit pants again. So I did the right thing and had a rest day. Lots of naps, a long meditation and tons of cat cuddles.

My appetite hasn’t fully come back so I’ve been struggling with eating enough. I bought some sausage roll crisps at Christmas but never got round to eating them. Spotted this small print. Made me laugh.

Kindness

I found these on my doorstep this morning. Since I’ve had Covid, my neighbours have been so kind and checked in on me regularly. They’ve left dinner on the steps, fruit and just checked in on me.

I’ve had emails and phone calls from other ones too. I feel very blessed to have such kind neighbours.
