Home again

Do you think they missed me?! The kittens and I are snuggled up on the sofa together. It’s good to be home. I missed them while I’ve been away.

I swung by the yard on my way home to see Buddy. He seemed more interested in his hay than me. I must be in the bad books. Either that or he thinks he’s retired. He’ll get a shock tomorrow when I go back and ride him.

Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

Graduation Day

Whenever I’m at my parents, I find a golden oldie. This is on my graduation day from the International School of Stockholm. I was 15 I think.

I loved that dress. I wonder if it’s still in a cupboard somewhere. I might have to go and see. Wonder if it still fits me?!

Jail break

Look who’s home?! So happy to have him back. I got frustrated and fed up waiting for the care package to be sorted so I took matters into my own hands. I was told that it could take weeks to sort…

I’ve arranged more support for them to allow Dad to recover at home. Best place for him.

Never underestimate what I can achieve when my back is against the wall and my family needs action. You can guarantee I will spring into action. And get stuff done!

Young love

Gotta love technology sometimes. Mum and Dad got to have a face to face of sorts today. My parents met in 1966 on a double blind date and have been together ever since. My Dad proposed after just a week! I guess when you know you know.

Still no news on when Dad will be home. I’ve learnt a few things today. There’s a National
shortage of carers, some processes are tough to navigate and I am bloody resilient!! Oh and I make a good cup of tea apparently.

I wish I got paid by the phone call. That’s all I’m saying….

Autumn edition

Mum fancied Shepherd Pie tonight. As I’m culinarily challenged, I popped into Sainsbury’s to pick one up for her. Spotted this while I was there. Love the fact it’s the Autumn Edition. When did that happen?!

No more news on Dad coming home. He’s ready to be discharged, but we’re waiting for a care package to be put in place. That’s where it gets tricky as there’s a backlog and no ETA. So he’s staying in for now.

Daddy dearest

Good news! My Dad is well enough to come home. Sadly it’s not that simple as we’re navigating the discharge process. So he’s got to stay in for another night.

At least he’s looking much brighter and was in good spirits when I saw him tonight.

Games night

I spotted this game today. Boy did it take me back. We used to have regular games nights when I was growing up. This was a family favourite. I remember it being introduced to my nieces too.

Mahjong was one of my favourites though. Not sure what happened to that. Or if I could remember the rules now.

Dad is definitely on the mend. Hopefully that he’ll be home tomorrow so he can continue to recover here.

The beautiful game

Mum and I have a footie day. I got to watch both of my teams. Brighton and Norwich. Wish I could say this quote was true as my teams went down. Badly. 1-11 in total. 0-7 to Norwich and 1-4 to Brighton.

At least Dad seemed brighter today. Still no news on when he will come out. Hopefully Monday. Keep the healing vibes and prayers coming…

Cinderella

There are some advantages to having the same shoe size as your Mother. I forgot my slippers but found an old pair in the shoe cupboard. Not my style. Rather comfy though.

Was allowed to see Dad today. He looked rather poorly still. Looks like he’s staying in hospital till Monday. So booked in to go and see him again tomorrow.

Thank you for all of the messages and well wishes. It really means so much.

Dippy

Finally got to see Dippy today. Love the juxtaposition of him being in Norwich Cathedral. Very cool. A great exhibition too. It was my first time inside the cathedral too. Wow! I had no idea it was stunning.

It seems like a long time ago though as I got back to find that my Dad has been rushed into hospital. Again. So I packed a bag and drove down to look after my Mum. Again.

All prayers and healing vibes gratefully received. Again.
